Summary: A Good Choice
Comment: As you can see there are a million GRE review books online. I don't know how the other books are, but I can tell you that this book was a good choice for me. The language in the book is easy to read and they break everything down. I'm a terrible test taker, and the tips and techniques they have in the book are ones I've never learned but know I can remember, even when the anxiety of the test comes into play. The DVD is a little corny, (but did you think it wouldn't?) but its very helpful. Its good to study material in different forms, linguistically, visually, and it helps you experience the material. For example, on the math he'll show you the problem and tell you to pause it and then you'll have to figure it out. Its interactive. At this time I haven't taken the exam yet, but I can already tell you that its helped me a lot.

Summary: First GRE Prep Book to Buy
Comment: None of these books are perfect. I found this one the most beneficial followed by the Barron's. I would suggest purchasing at least these two and practicing with any free information available. The test is too expensive and stressful not to be more than prepared for it.

Summary: DVD is video, not software
Comment: I guess it was my fault, but I thought the included DVD was software, not DVD-video. This book is pretty useless, I mostly bought it thinking the DVD would contain practice exams -- instead, you have to get practice exams from a website, and you only get two of them. The tips here in the book are pretty useless, unless you need to review high school algebra and geometry.

Summary: Do Not Buy!!!
Comment: This is a horrible guide, the strategies too simplistic and the practice problems MUCH easier than the real thing. I practiced with Princeton Review and thought the GRE was a piece of cake until I moved on to the Kaplan book and realized I did not know how to do anything. I highly recommend Kaplan and not to screw yourself over my even looking at Princeton Review. The only thing I will say in favor of it is that they have pretty extensive vocabulary lists.

Summary: Book is good, online tests are not.
Comment: This book proved to be a valuable resource in preparing for the GRE. However, the online practice tests are horrible. They simply do not work. I had to attempt to register several times before it actually went through. Then once I was finally able to start a test, it did not work correctly. The question would appear on the screen but the navigation buttons needed at the bottom to submit the answer would not. You had to hit refresh multiple times to get the buttons to appear. I fought through this for about 7 questions and finally gave up.

Read the book thoroughly. It has lots of valuable information that really helps you on the test. Just don't rely on the online practice tests.
