Summary: An Attention Keeper!
Comment: My daughter is 2 1/2 and the first day we had this video she watched it like 3 times! It's very cute and funny, very informative, easy to listen to and easy to watch. I'm planning on getting some of the other Henry the Lizard videos too. Henry is an animated lizard, but the animals are real. There are some parts that are cartoon-ish. I highly recommend this video when you want to watch something is that soothing. And there are NO COMMERCIALS!!! Yeah!

Really a primer on pet ownership, this video should not only put an end to young viewers' desires to have a monkey or a wolf as a pet, it will help them understand the true responsibilities of caring for the most common domestic animals. Food, water, and love are necessary for the survival of the gentle but giant Great Dane right on down to the cactus for which host Henry the animated lizard settles. Adults and older children will know some of the information, such as the ancient Egyptian worship of cats, but how many people know that a single pair of Golden Hamsters found in the Syrian desert earlier this century are responsible for the profusion of pet hamsters today? Fun footage of sheepdogs at work and timber-hauling elephants round out this informative and visually arresting 24-minute tape. --Kimberly Heinrichs
