Customer Rating: Summary: Well........ Comment: ....I must first admit I have always been a historical Romance reader, until I recently read Stephenie Meyer's Twilight series, and loved it so much, that I thought I would try other Romance novels with Vampires.
Well, so far, no luck for me. I will say the love scenes are really steamy and fun, right up my alley....but it was not enough to carry me thru this book with the rest of what goes on. I think I will stick to what I know and love.
Customer Rating: Summary: This is a great book Comment: This book is amazing. Is a "dark" story, with vampires, witches and what-not, but it also has a nice sense of humor and irony, coming from the mouths of the two main characters, Abby and Dante. I also like Viper, a very prominent secondary character (who's going to be the main character of the following book, yay!), who's a dark and powerful vampire.
The plot is a nice inventive, which I very much liked because it's very good and well-written, and I found it refreshing and new. And also the pasion between the two main characters is scorching!!!
Customer Rating: Summary: When Darkness Comes Comment: This book was very good. I read it in two days, I couldnt put it down. I couldnt wait to read the second book in the series.
Customer Rating: Summary: Almost a 5 Star - Great Writing Comment: Great characters but I agree with some who have faulted the lack of development of Dante's past and especially the lack of paranormal ablity demonstated by Dante. The great news is that Ms. Ivy can write - really well! She has great humor well placed to heighten or lessen tension in the story. I am ordering the other two books in this series. I hope there is more to explain the vampires' hitory in the next books. Dante is definitely one of the vampires you would love to have come visit . . . and Abby is very real and likeable. A HOT couple wit a great story!
Customer Rating: Summary: Good between books read Comment: I read this and the second in the series over the weekend. Once you get past the usual descriptions of the heroine and hero, and the fact that they are repeated verbatim several times, the story is pretty good.
I can't say there was an awful lot of chemistry, and this was certainly no Ward/Kenyon/Knight novel, but the characters were likeable and the plot kept moving. I wish the author had developed the story of the awesome powers she inherited a little more, but the story read fast and friendly.
Really, though, it wasn't so bad (not trying to damn by faint praise), but I'd stay a solid 3.5 stars, and I DID read the sequel. And I'm planning on reading the third.
