Summary: Bad group name, good book.
Comment: Where I think the name of the Force is hokey and overblown the book in and of itself isn't bad. The characters are good and compelling the subject interesting and frightening. Esp. being a Christian, it's scarey that this could happen in my future. Obviously, it's a work of fiction, so it's not to be taken literally but as an entertainment. However, it does give an idea how people can be taken in and controlled by evil.
As for some of the characters the only one, at this point that aggrevates me is Chloe Steele. Arrogant, feministic, bitchy, and just a down right brat. Her attitude was pretty much ok in the first book...but they really blossomed her into an annoying person in this one. Where she and Buck are having a chat in her livingroom about a misunderstanding, she acts feministic but just like a spruned girl who want s a guy to read her mind. Totally ridiculous. They have Buck having all the patience in the world with her where the everyday man would've gotten fed-up with her baby antics a whole lot sooner. Yet he still wants to be with her. Whatever! Then they portray them like junior high schoolers in love. Barely touching or holding hands or kissing. Yeah, I wasn't expecting them to jump into bed together, esp. after a conversion experience but jezz! They are human, and Christianity will change your life but you're still going to have human vices and flaws...they pretend in this series that you immediately turn into a Christ-like person, no flaws, no vices. Ludicrous. Wish it were that simple. Jesus will work in your life, absolutely, but you're still human, prone to human mistakes, carelessness and desires, you have to pray and work at it. Being strong in the Lord is something you develope over time, not in the first strike of lightening.. You are NOT a perfect being. They barely touch on this. The whole courtship of Buck and Chloe was way to sedate and elementary...not realistic at all.

Overall, it was a good read, easy and entertaining.

Summary: A light read considering the heavy subject material
Comment: It's not hard too hard to understand why this series was so successful. It's written in a very easy to read style, the pacing is quick, the subject matter is very interesting, and it's obviously written in a style to appeal to women and men. The romance element of this book is a little strange; why in a book about the end times and the Antichrist is a romance element so prominent? (Does she like me? Does she not like me?) The book is definitely not as heavy as Randy Alcorn's Deadline (Ollie Chandler Series #1), which is more intellectually stimulating but a more challenging read. Having said that, I plan to read at least one more book in the series.

Two minor criticisms: The phone call from Eli at the end of the book was strange. When Buck had such as significant meeting with him earlier, it seems awkward to reduce Eli to a normal sounding phone conversation. The last 10-15 pages were awkward too. Why fast forward 18 months and change so many characters' situations so quickly?

Summary: Slightly better than the first, but still awfull
Comment: Yes, I read this one too, hoping that somehow it would be better. It was but it is still unbearable. I sincerely do not care about the teaching - it's all in the technique. The same thoughts of the characters are related over and over and over, it hits you over the head with LaHaye's views, it's really just horrible. There is plenty of other good and even great eschatological fiction out there, much even from the same theological perspective. Invesitgate that instead.

I tried reading the third book as well but could only make it half way through before I decided to stop punishing myself, so I did not write a review for it.

Editorial Reviews:

Created by a leader in graphic novels to the general market, this is an entirely new format for Christian product. These are not the comic books you remember, but a new way to communicate with ages 12 and up.

The adventure continues with volumes III–V of Tribulation Force, the second book in the Left Behind Graphic Novel series.

Volume III--As the Trib Force bands tightly together, Nicolae Carpathia increases in power and influence.

Volume IV--Startling discoveries, mysterious strangers, and shocking secrets shatter the calm surface of the world.

Volume V--As the world begins its slide toward corruption and degradation, the Trib Force bravely faces violence and tragedy.
