Customer Rating: Summary: Intelligent, thoughtful, and hilarious Comment: Here we have the entire collection of Nny. This book is violent, repugnant, and yet still amazing. With its charming wit, deadpan humor, and brilliant character interactions, this book is a well-deserved 5-star.
Customer Rating: Summary: brain explody Comment: OMG... This was some of the funniest and darkest humor Ive encountered... Johnny... Nny for short had me rolling
Customer Rating: Summary: Best ever Comment: For any who have not had the joy of viewing any of Jhonen Vasquez's work this is the best there is.
Customer Rating: Summary: NNY Comment: Simply put JTHM covers a vast array of emotions and feeling that we all have from time to time Johnny just acts through with them, which can give you a sense of that same outlet Jhonen vents through johnny
Customer Rating: Summary: Question (Z) Sleep (?) Comment: I like this book. Putting it simple. I read the one star reviews on this book and I wonder: "Did they read it?" I get this idea they just read a couple of pages and said: "Eww! This is discusting!" and decided to wright a bad review. I found Johnny's points of view to be insightful and a good topic for debates. I even found that, even though some of his artwork was disturbing, it was rather funny. Face it humans may think we evolved from being primal, but really this is what suppressed gore is like. The style that Jhonen works with is stick-figurish. But he draws in a way that is very hard to pull off; his characters are in weird perspectives, and their really cool to look at. The story is about a guy named Johnny or Nny for short (it sounds like 'knee' as in knee-cap). He is what the title claims him to be- Johnny the Homicidal Maniac (JTHM), JTSM, JTRM. Nny murders/tortures people. He's insane, the story shows that. He also scares the boy next door to him, Squee. Johnny's not all bad, he does help Squee out, twice. The creature behind the wall, god, and Senor Diablo are all very creative characters Jhonen thought up. But on another note, read this book, I mean actually read it. Yeah its gorey, and can be disturbing to people with closed-minds. Big deal, thats no reason to put down some one's artwork or view of the world. Oh and one more thing, JTHM was created before Invader Zim. IZ is one of my fav shows, but people it was created for Nick! A kids cartoon station! Do you really think they'd put anything like Jhonen's original gorey style on the air? Gezz. Have some respect for the guys original stuff. Ok, that will be all.

Mayhem and violence rule in this collection of issues one through seven of Jhonen Vasquez's Johnny the Homicidal Maniac, as well as material seen before only in Carpe Noctem magazine. Dark and disturbingly funny, JTHM follows the adventures of Johnny (you can call him Nny), who lives with a pair of styrofoam doughboys that encourage his madness, a wall that constantly needs a fresh coat of blood, and--oh, yeah--his victims in various states of torture. Join Nny as he frightens the little boy next door (Todd, known to fans of Vasquez's work as Squee), thirsts for Cherry Brain Freezies, attempts suicide, draws Happy Noodle Boy, and tries to uncover the meaning of his homicidal existence.
