Summary: Not what I thought it would be
Comment: This is kind of a bizarre product. You don't learn to read music, you follow Esteban. The book shows tablature, steps for stumming each note and the music but really the course is designed to follow Esteban on DVD.
Yes, he teaches technique well, but as a beginner, learning how to play the songs is more important than the technique. My biggest annoyance is that the songs are short, abbrieviated to 1/2 page. For instance, you learn the chorus (only) of Greensleeves.
On a positive note, the first 7 chapters of the DVD go through basics of the guitar, correct positioning, strumming and finger picking styles. This could be very helpful to beginners.
Overall, interesting, but this won't teach me how to play the guitar.

Comment: I'm just coming back to the guitar and this is the absolute easiest and best product I've seen. Makes me want to learn and gives me the ability to follow at my own speed. Really enjoying the course.

Comment: Though I think the DVDs could have been way more educational. It is really good. I am learning how to play guitar!!!!! JUst do not get discouraged when you compare the way you play with Estában's way. He is a professional, we are not. So enjoy!!!
