Customer Rating: Summary: When Harry Met Jason Comment: Jason and Sammy are best friends. Jason just graduated college and the guys are moving in together. Everything is going great. At a graduation party things get out of hand. The beer has been drugged and Jason gets really wasted. Officer Harrison Everett takes one look at Jason sitting dazed on the couch and helps him out. He takes him home and cares for him and a friendship blossoms. Things move pretty fast between Harry and Jason. Jason is deliriously happy. Sammy is happy for his friend but something happened to him that night at the party and things are going from bad to worse for him. Harry and Jason's relationship is getting stronger and stronger while Sammy is trying desperately to cope with his fear and his stalkers. He's not alone though. Harry and Jason are right by his side.
Sammy and Jason have a special bond that transcends the boundaries of most friendships. Even after Jason and Harry meet they still share some intimacy, which was okay for me. Jason and Harry are adorable. They are so in love and so into each other. The chemistry between them is immediate and intense. Poor sweet Sammy is terrorized throughout the book but by then end with the help of his friends, he seems to be recovering. When Harry Met Jason is about how Harry and Jason meet. Between Friends - also written by Sean Michael, is the story of where Jason and Harry (and Sammy) are now. Although it's not necessary, I would recommend reading When Harry Met Jason first. Every page of When Harry Met Jason is full of emotion. It's very moving. I am desperate to read Sammy's story!

Customer Rating: Summary: A prequel that lives up! Comment: LouisaClark has given a great review on this latest from Sean.
I too love "Between Friends" and of course look forward to more on Sammy and Peter, Jason and Harry. My favorite character is Sammy and I was hoping for Sammy's story first. Still this one on how Harry met Jason is enjoyable and a sexy read. The story takes place years ago when Jason and Sammy are just stepping out into the world trying to build their careers. We get to know how close they are. They are best friends and love each other deeply but just not in love with each other as they have different needs. Sammy is into the extreme side of BDSM. Jason is a sweet man looking for the right man and he finds him in Harry, a young cop then but such a hunk. Harry is such a warm and open character then, before the terrible incident changed him and affected all 4 of them in "Between Friends". Sammy does not take a back seat in this story as his sad plight and torture in the hands of his tormentors entwined with Jason's and Harry's love story. And now to wait most patiently for Sammy's and Peter's story which I hope Sean will deliver SOON!
Customer Rating: Summary: Sean has delivered again. Comment: When we first met the boys - Jason, Harry, Samuel and Peter - in Sean's previous novel, Between Friends, they were two loving, established couples. We were given hints of their back stories that teased and intrigued, giving me really high hopes for this prequel, When Harry Met Jason. Well, I'm happy to say Sean has delivered again. Harry and Jason's story warms and delights, but what really grabbed a hold of my heart was Jason and Sammy's beautiful story of friendship.
Jason's survived his final exams and has finally graduated from college. He has a small, but comfortable apartment that he shares with his best friend Sammy, and he's looking forward to starting his new teaching position in the fall. Things are a little tight financially for the guys, but they have high hopes and bright futures planned. Jason and Sammy attend a party at a local fraternity house to celebrate graduation, and for Jason that night leads to a very significant event. He meets Harry.
Jason and Sammy are just something here, and I couldn't help but fall in love with them. All over again. We already knew from Between Friends the two were "friends with privileges," and although they loved each other very much, they're not in love. And this is something they both were quite aware of, as they had tried to make a go at a relationship earlier, but Sammy had needs that Jason couldn't satisfy or even understand. Once their relationship evolved into a friendship, they became very close and the best of friends.
Harry and Jason's love story is everything I had hoped for, and more. Harry's adorably old-fashioned, which I found extremely sexy. He didn't want to jump right into the sack with Jason, wanting their first time to be meaningful and special. The sexual tension that builds between the two are hilarious, as they both come near to spontaneously combusting. The conflict between Harry and Jason over Sammy was very subtle, but significant, Harry understanding and sympathetic. He loved and trusted Jason, but Harry wasn't willing to share Jason either, at least not in that way. There was a well-written, heartfelt conversation between Harry and Jason concerning Sammy that really conveyed Harry's true feelings. Harry's definitely a real sweetheart.
Sammy is the same Samuel I so adored in Between Friends, sweetly annoying with his mothering ways, and his overwhelming desire to comfort with food. But without Peter, Sammy's unsettled and unfulfilled. He's looking for what he needs in all the wrong places which just causes poor Sammy all sorts of grief. He desperately needs Peter, and it's quite heartbreaking to witness Sammy's struggles. He's wearing himself out by working two jobs, and then there's a dangerous situation brewing. The suspense with this situation is quite intense at times, but the focus of these scenes isn't the terror, as much as the love and support Sammy receives from Jason.
There is a wonderful, expressive moment between Sammy and Jason that mirrors a similar scene in Between Friends. The boys are cuddled together in a bubble bath sharing wine and chocolate, as Jason comforts the terrified Sammy. In the mirror scene, from Between Friends, the roles are intriguingly reversed as it is Sammy who does the comforting of Jason. These two poignantly contrasting scenes that define their friendship will stay with me for a very long time.
As always, Sean has a gift for creating the supporting characters, and the vivacious Landlady Rita is absolutely stunning. I'm keeping my fingers crossed hoping to see her again. I don't want to spoil, but I'll just say she's one-of-a-kind. The novel is filled with all those indulgent little touches that Sean writes so well, like the playful name calling when Sammy gets stressed. Jason has learned this amusing game focuses Sammy on something other than his distress, and when Harry catches on, the banter between the three of them is positively delightful.
Ultimately, the appeal of this wonderful novel was the interplay between the characters. Harry accepted that Sammy was a huge part of Jason's life, but Harry made it clear from the very beginning that he's there to stay, while Sammy retaliates by making it quite clear that he will always be there for Jason. Both men stubbornly draw their lines. Although this is most definitely Harry and Jason's story, it was the moments between Sammy and Jason that was the heart of the novel, at least for me. Jason needing to move on to be a part of Harry's life was a painful process for Jason, and he found it very difficult to leave Sammy all alone in their once-shared apartment.
I was moved to tears and overcome with laughter so many times, Jason and Harry's story warming my heart, and arousing all sorts of warm fuzzies. The sexin' while as hot as ever, was well-balanced with the storyline. And all I can say is that Sean better hurry up with Peter and Samuel's story. The author commented there are at least five novels planned for this series.

The world met Harry, Jason and Sammy in Between Friends, Sean Michael's popular novel about a pair of couples and the troubles they face. When Harry Met Jason goes back in time to when cop Harry met just-graduated Jason, who's living with his college roommate Sammy, and worrying about trying to find a job. When a frat party goes bad, Jason ends up more than just drunk, but Harry shows up just in time, policing the party and taking Jason home. That's the start of something neither one of them can deny, a relationship that Harry wants to take slow, while Jason would like to go in fast forward. The party starts something for Jason's best friend Sammy, too, something not so great. He's been hurt, and is being stalked to boot, which makes Jason hesitant to leave Sammy alone to pursue Harry. As Harry and Jason become closer and closer, Sammy's stalkers get more and more violent, until finally something has to break. Can Harry and Jason keep Sammy safe and fall in love all at the same time? Read this wonderful love story today and find out!
