Summary: great video
Comment: if your a barbra streisand fan you must own this video . this is a great video. i loved the somewhere music-video. i think they should release all of barbra streisand's music video's on dvd. barbra streisand made tons of music video's back in the 70's and 80's that were never released on vhs. so i think they should release them on dvd.

Summary: Disappointing!
Comment: I thought there would be more "there" there, but I was sorely disappointed. It was mostly a long interview with Barbra with only some shots of her recording with the orchestra, and even those were interrupted. I was hoping this video would include more of her music and more of her at the recording studio. I was truly disappointed in this and would not really recommend it to Streisand fans.

Summary: Broadway Video Entertaining
Comment: Overall, this is a good document of the making of a landmark and popular album. Barbra is in fine voice, and it's fun to watch her work. My only criticism is the belabored and overly rehearsed "conversation" between Barbra and William Friedkin. The whole talk seems scripted and insincere. It taints an otherwise interesting video. But, alas, we have Barbra at a high point in her career singing some of the best material, so the video is still worthwhile.

Summary: YOU'LL LOVE IT!
Comment: Not just her fabulous voice doing your favorite Broadway tunes "the way they were written to be sung." Now Barbra takes us behind the scenes and makes you feel apart of the whole delicate difficult wonderful 'putting-yourself-out-there' process of Putting It Together! YOU GO GIRL!

Summary: Too much talk, not enough music
Comment: I would have liked more of her singing and less talking. Interesting how some of the songs are different here from how they are on the album. One thing I noticed: there are some parts of the interview where her nails are only done up on one hand and not the other... perfection? Ha ha. I kept wondering if that was done on purpose or if it was because the whole project was rather rushed. The Rosie O'Donnell interview was a better interview (actually, both she did w/her) but the musical sequences are superb. Of course!
