Customer Rating: Summary: Can it be, DVD? Comment: Just want to say how happy I am to see that finally this most excellent movie will be on DVD. I see it's being offered on ebay by a guy in England, the package says it's a Columbia Classics, so will we get it in the States soon? I sure hope so, our 3rd VHS tape of this movie has had it. A family favorite for years...we love the whole cast, especially the dry Tony Hancock, "I know, I Know"
Customer Rating: Summary: Better Than Ever - After 41 Years Comment: TCM (Turner Classic Movies),finally, showed TWB on Nov 28, 2007.
I viewed it and the print was EXCELLENT!
Also, the Script and the Humor still work.
Unquestionably, a DVD Release is forthcoming.
Whenever, it will be worth waiting for.
Let The Anticipation Begin.
Customer Rating: Summary: Wrong Box is perfect for a DVD Comment: The Wrong Box is a wonderful movie that is long overdue to be issued on DVD. If anyone sees this before November 28, 2007, it will be shown on TCM at 11:45PM. Can that be a good sign??? Everyone in the cast is marvelous. Do not miss this movie if you have a chance to see it.
Customer Rating: Summary: A too long buried treasure Comment: I can still remember when and where, and with whom, I saw this wonderful movie. A hopeless romantic at heart, I went out and bought the soundtrack, a 33 LP, and still play those songs on the piano.Funny, clever Peter Sellers and Dudley Moore were at their best. I can still see Sellers blotting his ink with a kitten.
It seems odd that a book by Robert Louis Stevenson (in collaboration with his son in law) could be turned into such a memorable romantic comedy, and odder yet that it has not been made available on DVD or Netflix. There is, I hope, an ultimate accounting for taste.
Customer Rating: Summary: A prayer to the DVD gods Comment: Among many others, I, too, remain bewildered by the absence on DVD format of this brilliantly hillarious film. All the performances mentioned in these Amazon reviews were terrific; I just want to add Wilfred Lawson's butler Peacock for special mention.
