Summary: Animation Professional Extraordinnaire
Comment: Chuck Jones ranks among the best and most beloved of all animation directors. He is the creator of characters like Wile E. Coyote, Road Runner, and Pepe Le Pew and he directed hundreds of animated cartoons in his long career. This video presents his life story, complete with interviews with Chuck and others who worked with him at the Warner Brothers Studios.

Jones speaks a little bit about his early interest in art and how his parents encouraged him to read books as a young boy, which resulted in his interest in drawing the animals and other things described in the books. Jones quickly discovered that he had a talent for drawing and he developed and honed his skills to the point where he was given his first job at Leon Schlesinger studios- a business that was later acquired by Warner Brothers.

Much of this video is spent with Chuck explaining the process of drawing and creating an animated cartoon. Jones doesn't talk much about his personal life. He instead spends his time on camera explaining the cartoons and some interesting trivia facts about his friends and colleagues who helped make Looney Tunes such a success. His style is very lethargic and unemotional. Jones speaks very calmly and only cracks a smile on a few occasions. But he gets his points across.

Chuck Jones died in 2002, at the age of 89. This video serves as a biographical sketch and a business overview of what life was like for this animation genius. It's a video worth watching, to gain a better understanding of all action going on behind the scenes in the Warner Brothers Studios.
