Summary: The purpose of this is for people who do not 'want' to read music
Comment: The person who hammered this product missed the point. This is created exactly for the purpose he criticized. I am 36 years old and I have no desire to learn to 'read music'. I just want to learn a simple way to play the piano. That is what I liked about this product. My wife can read music, and play beautiful songs but now I can as well at a simpler level. Mr. 1 Star must be resentful of the fact that this video allows people to play as well as him without the time or effort.

Comment: The positive reviews given for this product must have been written by employees of the company who produced the product. Thankfully, I checked out this item from the library at no cost. This video is worthless for purposes of teaching you how to play the piano. It does not teach you how to read music. It does not teach you the 7 notes of the keyboard. It does not show you how to play any tunes. What does it do? It shows you how to play notes sequentially up and down the keyboard (as if you need a video to show you how to do that), and refers to the keys by numbers; whereas the rest of the world refers to the keys of a piano by the letters A to G. Very poorly conceived approach.

Comment: I received a keyboard for Christmas and this tape...I learned to play something that "sounded" like a real song in only 1/2 hour. I called my fiancee on his cell phone and made him listen to my "improv" sesh!

Summary: Overnight?
Comment: The title of this video is wrong. It should say "Play the Piano in Minutes". You can literally watch the first couple of lessons and start pounding out some sweet melodies with this method. The video teaches a keyboard 'numbering' system which is easily ignored because the video shows clearly which keys to hit and what patterns to play. Even if you've never touched a piano in you life you can sound like you've been playing for years. I am in my late 30's and just beginning to play while learning from the basic "Mary Had a Little Lamb" type books. Sometimes I just want to take a break from the books and play some nice music even if I don't know the names of the notes and chords. I HIGHLY recommend this video to anyone who thinks piano playing is too difficult or beyond their abilities- this video will prove you wrong about that. I'm serious, ANYONE can play the piano with this method. I do however recommend ignoring the key 'numbering' system and learn how to read music and learn the notes of the keys.

Summary: Excellent-Clear-Practicle-Useful-Easy to Understand-A Puls!
Comment: Excellent Teaching Video. True to the title...one can play your piano overnight using this video....I was pleasantly surprised when I checked out this video as a small town library in Minnesota....I teach music and this hits the mark A+.Notation is not a part of this Video....pure hand movement is the focus. There is no pressure....every practice session is a joy instead of a chore with note reading. Oops another wrong note....what was that note anyway....and so the story goes with all the dusty unplayed pianos across America. Alas.
I hope to write a drum book/video based on movement rather then notes. This video has inspired me....and I like playing piano for the pure sound of it. Someday I hope to meet the creator and thank her. Well...here's cyber thanks. Thank you Patty Carlson....your thinking and approach to playing the piano is right on the money.
