Summary: Great family comedy
Comment: I had purchased this DVD in the fall to use on a long trip (via charter bus) that a large group of us were going to a christmas show up north.
(dvd player on bus-2 screens) this is a nice family, clean cut movie.

Summary: great holiday fun for the whole family
Comment: this is a christmas classic.......file under "wacky fun for everyone" when you buy this movie because you'll love it so much that you'll run out and add this to your collection. steve martin, rita wilson, the always great late madelin kahn, adam sandler, the cast list goes on and on of really good actors. this is one of those movies you will watch overe and over and see something you missed on the previous viewing. i highly recommend this movie.

Summary: Our family's favorite Christmas movie!
Comment: This is a little-known excellent Steve Martin Christmas movie. It is full of wacky characters, well-known stars and constant humor. Our family knows the lines by heart. I suppose it is our cult classic. I'm not sure why it is not more popular. I continue to give it as a gift and watch it every year with my kids.

Comment: I thought this move was very funny, and very quirky, but at times it dragged a little. The most fun part, for me, was seeing the amazin cast- Steve Martin, Rita Wilson, Juliette Lewis, Anthony LaPaglia, Liev Schreiber, Adam Sandler, Adam Arkin, Parker Posey, etc. It's so many great people in one little movie! Overall, this movie is good times.

Comment: I was familiar with this movie before i purchased it. It is undoubtedly one of the very funniest comedies I have ever seen. It is now among my favorite movies to watch during the holiday season.

Writer-director Nora Ephron hit a low point with this disappointingly dreary comedy set in a suicide clinic on Christmas Eve. The joke is supposed to be that all of the crisis counselors are themselves a pack of lovable losers, led by a badly toupeed Steve Martin. But it's a short step from lovable loser to annoying dweeb and most of the people in this movie cross that line very quickly. It's too bad, because the cast includes Madeline Kahn, Robert Klein, Rob Reiner, Garry Shandling, and Adam Sandler. Somehow, Ephron manages to restrain this lineup from doing anything funny. --Marshall Fine
