Summary: "World Champion Denver Broncos"? You're kiddin', right...?
Comment: Ah-- nothin' like viewin' the season highlight videos of my fave Super Bowl championship teams to get me pumped up for the upcoming NFL season! And few pieces of my collection put me in that feel-good mood like the Denver Broncos' 1997 yearbook. Yep, it was a season that saw them become the unlikeliest of Super Bowl champions-- well, the unlikeliest until the New England Patriots captured the title several seasons later, anyway.A few of my fave highlights (and least-fave lowlights) in this presentation:
- Week 3 vs. St. Louis: Being a Niner fan, it's always a thrill to watch the Lambs-- whoops, I mean, the Rams get beaten down like the bush-league team they deserve to be!
- Week 5 at Atlanta: The Broncos beat up on former Denver head coach Dan Reeves' Falcons. More of the same would happen over a year later in Super Bowl XXXIII.
- Week 8 at Oakland: The Broncos are edged out 28-25 by the Raiders. This is a particularly painful moment to view, what with the Faders winning and all. This point in the presentation is made slightly amusing, however, by the `profanities' uttered by an old-biddie Raiders fan following a turnover committed by the hometown team. "Aw nuts", indeed...
- Week 9 at Buffalo: Not even a freak snowstorm that virtually shut down the Denver airport could keep the Broncos from arriving (barely) on time to face the Bills in a thrilling overtime victory. Is Denver DE Keith Traylor's lumbering return of an interception for a score being shown in slo-mo or in real time? You make the call!
- Week 10 vs. Seattle: John Elway passes Fran Tarkenton to claim second place in the NFL career passing yardage record books.
- Week 11 vs. Carolina: Darrien Gordon returns two punts for TDs in the 2nd quarter, becoming one of only four players to accomplish such a feat!
- Week 12 at Kansas City: Rod Smith comes up with a pair of spectacular catches, but a long field goal in the closing seconds gives the Chiefs the win.
- Week 13 versus Oakland: Now THIS is more like it! the Broncos humiliate the Raiders 31-3, showin' `em just how big a bunch of pathetic losers they really are. And the best part was that it was played at Mile High, which meant that I didn't hafta worry about the game gettin' blacked out in the bay area! Which is something I've NEVER seen happen with televised Niner home games, by the way...
- Week 16 versus San Francisco: I have mixed feelings about this particular matchup. On one hand, the Niners' victory here gave them home-field advantage in the NFC playoffs. On the other hand, it kept the Broncos from winning the AFC West title, which I thought was a bit of a drag. Sadly, SanFran's win was eventually all for naught, as they would be soundly beaten by the Pack at the `Stick in the NFC championship almost a month later...
- AFC Divisional Playoff at Kansas City: The Chiefs may have captured the AFC West, but the deflection of a last-gasp pass to the end zone sends the Broncos to the conference championship game in Pittsburgh.
- Super Bowl XXXII, AKA The Day Heck Froze Over ("Heck"? I must still be thinkin' of that old-biddy Raiders fan...). That's the only way I can explain how Denver finally managed to actually WIN one of these games. Aside from the Packers being a double-digit-point fave, the Broncos had three things going against them:
- They were a wild-card team (that extra playoff game can take a lot of energy out of a team);
- .They were representatives of the AFC, the conference that hadn't won a Super Bowl™ in the last 13 tries;
- And finally... they were the Broncos. `Nuff said, right?
But, thanks to a devastating running game (game MVP Terrell Davis going 157 yars ans scoring 3 TDs), and a defense that stopped The Pack when they had to (check out the three-way collision on the play prior to Denver's fourth-down stop of Green Bay's final drive), the Broncos finally shook the `big-game-choke-artists' label. And who can forget Elway's third-quarter `rotor-blade' dive (several angles of this moment are shown)? You could tell just from that play alone that ol' Chiclet-Choppers wanted to win this one pretty badly! Hey, if you were on the (very) short end of three previous Super Bowls that you and the rest of Colorado would just as soon forget, you'd go all-out too! Aw man, can you believe it? I'm actually gettin' misty watching the post-game celebration! Anybody want a hug? Um... hello?
Finally, we get down to the closing credits, featuring footage from the Broncos' victory parade through downtown Denver. Personally, if I were in charge of NFL Films, I'd've shown footage of the riots that broke out in the city immediately after the big win underneath the credits, but that's me. It would've been significantly more entertaining than that awful Super Bowl halftime show reel they added to the end of this presentation...

Summary: A high intensity game
Comment: I know you remember the day, January 25,1998. The Packers came in with high hopes,but the Broncos had other plans. It was hectic for all the fans all until the final seconds remaining when still we didn't really know who was going to win. It came down to that last chance that Green Bay had to score. As he threw everyone's attention was on the screen. Brett Farve threw the ball!!!! I think it was Atwater and Gordon who in just the knick of time bocked the pass.My stomach curled all until the last drop.It was over the Denver Broncos were now officially The Superbowl XXXII Champions. Congratulations to the team and to John Elway for his first ever superbowl win. YOU DID IT. Broncos fan,

Comment: On January 25th, in America's finest city, San Diego California, I was struck by the power of the moment and the enthusiasm of the fans. The game was the best Superbowl in several years. The video captures the rise of the Broncos to the premiere team in the game. It highlights the emotion, drama and intensity required to be champions. Comment: As a die hard bronco fan, i would give this video a 5 star + rating. It givies an in depth look at the broncos history, numbers, stats, and plus it gives you a review of each and every 16 reguler season games, plus a look at thge wild card game, 2 playoff games, and the super bowl. it has interviews with the owners, coaches, and players of the denver broncos. it shows you locker room meetings, and celebrations. It is a must see for any football or denver bronco fan!
