Customer Rating: Summary: Windchime? Comment: This looks very pretty but it doesn't make a whole lot of noise, maybe it's just me and I don't notice it. I just wish it were a little louder or something.

Woodstock Percussion EHS Emperor Harp Windchime
Customer Rating: Summary: Loved this little wind chime Comment: I could not get over the really lovely sound this little wind chime produced ! It was a small wind chime and I have found in the past that little wind chimes can be tinny and cheap. This one produced a beautiful sound and I would encourage people to buy it.
Customer Rating: Summary: Didnt chime :( Comment: I put these chimes out on a moderately windy day while laying in the sun. Despite several strong winds, they didnt make a sound, just twirled. I guess if your in a hurricane they're all right, but I sent them back.
Customer Rating: Summary: Looks like music Comment: This is a gorgeous windchime. The sound is like the tinkling of bells, but very complex and melodious. I bought this mainly for the visual beauty, since I wanted to hang it close to the street in my front yard. I also wanted something more durable than bamboo or brass. I have not been disappointed - this is definitely not cheaply made or packaged.
I was very surprised by the one extremely negative review below. I will say that the windchime is not as large as the description makes it sound. The wooden crosspiece is about 10" long. When hanging, the chime itself is about 13" from the top of the slanted crosspiece to the bottom of the longest chime. The 17" measurement is from the top of the hanging loop. Also, this is not one of those windchimes with a hanging clapper. It does take a good gust of wind to make it chime. That could be another advantage, though, if you want something that isn't ringing constantly day and night. It's worth it when it does chime, and even when it's silent, it just looks like music.

The lovely, organic silhouette of this Emperor Harp chime from Woodstock Percussion is a perfect match for its delicate sound. Carved from a single piece of hardwood, the curved support features a highly visible grain, a rich cherry stain, and a weather-protective coat. A professional musician and instrument designer has tuned the chime to a shimmering sound, designed to evoke a spirit of adventure. The Emperor Harp features eight weather-resistant aluminum tubes secured to the support by a fine black cord. A slightly thicker black cord, pre-tied with a hanging loop, supports the entire chime. --Emily Bedard
