Customer Rating: Summary: One Fine Product Comment: When these supports arrived, I checked the package and everything was intact. The project they were purchased for was to push exterior drywall back to the ceiling rafters. The nails that was used to hold the drywall was releasing. The ceiling I was working on was 8 x 28 ft. I started at one end and jacked the drywall back to the rafters. I used drywall screws to secure the ceiling. I think the FastCap 3rd Hand Support System is well worth the money. The units I received clams it is rated at 150 pounds. I am not sure it is capable of this weight. There were no instruction inside the box, the only instruction is what is on the side of the box.
Customer Rating: Summary: great tool Comment: I am finding more uses for this everyday. IOt's like having two helpers only better. The only con is the pole length adjustment is hard to use. I am going to get a set of shorter ones also.
Customer Rating: Summary: Flimsy Comment: I bought a pair for a recent home, crown molding project. The first board went great but then the misadventures began. Both supports eventually fell over a few times (not hard) and that caused both to jamb--meaning no up or down motion. I called the FastCap folks (GREAT people by the way--amazing service) and they sent me replacement parts. That only worked so-so...items still jamb up.
When they work, they work great. My experience is that they are way too flimsy because fall overs happen--especially when you are by yourself up on a ladder!
Customer Rating: Summary: Cheap Silent Helper Comment: These things are wonderful. They don't complain or tell you how to do it better. Don't take cigarette breaks, always on time, take up little space, hold the drywall in place as long as you want. Tried a much cheaper copy from Harbor Freight and they slipped when tightened(OK to hold plastic dust barrier, that's about all).
Get at least two of these you won't regret it.
Customer Rating: Summary: Only because "6 Stars" is not an option... Comment: I can't say enough good things about these. I've used them for multiple applications, and they've paid for themselves in the amount of labor and aggravation they've saved me.
- Holding up crown molding
- load bar in the bed of the truck
- bracing a cabinet flush to the wall
- applying pressure to a vertical section of beadboard glued to its substrate
- Holding up the pieces of a disassembled swingset so I can drop the tailgate of the truck without breaking my back
One cautionary bit of advice: When bracing cabinets, watch out that they don't fall over sideways and damage any nearby appliances of countertops. I had a close call once.

If you ever wished you had an extra hand, here it is. Starting at 5 feet and reaching to 12 feet, the 3rd Hand provides support, brace, or clamp for whenever you might need an extra hand. Great for installing upper cabinets, crown molding, and window coverings. 3rd Hand supports drywall, plastic barriers, ceiling panels, and light fixtures.
