Customer Rating: Summary: Outstanding Documentary Comment: Thanks to the efforts of these documentary filmmakers who were there with the firefighters as events unfolded, this powerful documentary is outstanding and, in my opinion, historically significant. These are the people who were there, their actions, their thoughts, their feelings. This is the one video that is a must have.
Customer Rating: Summary: The Accidental Documentary Comment: A brilliant record of the atmosphere in one New York City firehouse in the weeks leading up to September 11. It documents the day right from the first glimpse of the first plane to hit and what was going on at the command post inside the north tower. The camera man films as he flees from the collapses and after the dust settles inside the firehouse, the aftermath. A sobering film to watch, but a very well made documentary about that awful day. If this interests you I recommend it.
Customer Rating: Summary: COULD NOT WATCH IT Comment: COULD NOT WATCH THE FILM - WRONG REGION. VERY FRUSTARTING AS STATED LIVED IN THE UK. HOW CAN IT BE EXCHANGED.
Customer Rating: Summary: 9/11 - The Filmmakers' Commemorative Edition Comment: This is a poignant DVD in one of the worst days in history. Excellent DVD and would highly recommend.
Thank you!

Customer Rating: Summary: Powerful Film Comment: The film follows two french brothers who set out to make a documentary of the life of a probationary fireman in New York, but the documentary took a disturbing turn on the morning of September 11th. After capturing one of 2 know scenes of the first plane hitting the towers, they rushed to the scene with the firefighters they were shadowing. They were there when the towers fell, through the fear of losing a loved one, but later reuniting, the desperate search for the survivors, and the early stages of the healing process. A incredibly powerful documentary that shouldn't be missed.

Originally broadcast on CBS in March 2002, 9/11 is an extraordinary record of that fateful day in New York City. This one-of-a-kind documentary was originally conceived as a portrait of 21-year-old Tony Benetatos, a firefighter trainee at Manhattan's Duane Street firehouse, located seven blocks from the World Trade Center. By the time filming was finished, brothers Jules and Gedeon Naudet had captured history in the making, including the only image of the first jetliner striking Tower 1, and the only footage from within the tower as it collapsed. This is not, however, a film about the murderous nightmare of terrorism. It's the ultimate rite-of-passage drama, more immediate and meaningful than any fiction film could be, with Benetatos and his supportive colleagues emerging as heroes of the first order. Sensitively narrated by codirector and fellow firefighter James Hanlon, 9/11 will endure forever as a tribute to those, living and dead, who witnessed hell on that sunny Tuesday morning. --Jeff Shannon
