Summary: Saved my knives
Comment: I have a set of Wustof knives that were once very sharp and easy to use, but over time became so dull as to be unsafe. They are good knives but not worth enough to have professionally sharpened. So I bought the Presto Pro Knife Sharpener and was not disappointed. I never realized how dull they were until I sharpened them all. There are two wheels to put the knives through and I found it easy to achieve a very nice sharp edge on all my knives. At $24 it was well worth the price.

Comment: I took a chance and ordered the Presto Pro EverSharp Electric Knife Sharpener based on a previous review. I am so glad I did. It is easy to use, directions are easy to follow, and I couldn't beat the price locally. My knives are so sharp now they kind of scare me so I am extra careful when I am cutting anything.

Summary: This product is fabulous!
Comment: I wasn't sure I wanted something else to sit on my countertop. But for the first time in my married life (35 years), I now have SHARP knives. They cut through tomato skins easily. When I take the knives out of the dishwasher, I just run them through the sharpener, then put them away. Now I always have sharp knives. Wonderful product, especially for the price!

Comment: I was skeptical about this item and the results definitely proved me wrong. The directions state that you need to glide your knives in a single direction, once on the left inserts then you move to the right, and voila! Your knives are sharp again! No harsh pulling or pressing. The only thing that's lacking in this product is that it doesn't work with serrated knives or shears; therefore, if you want a sharpener that takes care of those types of knives, I'd purchase another product. Most of my knives are straight edged so this works well for me.

Comment: This sharpener is very quick and convenient to use. However, the stones are very course and if your not carefull youll take more metal off the blade than is necessary. Ive started using the second stage only and completely bypass the first stage because its to course.

All kitchen and sporting knives, whether professional quality or inexpensive, need a blade tune-up now and then. This electric sharpener produces razor-sharp edges using the same rapidly rotating Sapphirite grinding wheels used by professional shops. A two-stage system allows knives to be ground and sharpened on the Stage 1 half of the machine, and then honed on the Stage 2 half. Blade guides hold the knife at the ideal sharpening angle for each side of the blade, as it is drawn slowly towards the user and kept parallel to the countertop. The sharpener is suitable for knives made of alloy, carbon, or stainless steel; it is perfectly normal for sparks to fly when knives of high carbon steel come in contact with the Sapphirite wheels. Non-electric serrated knives that are only serrated on one side can also be sharpened with this machine. Three suction cups on the bottom hold the sharpener securely on a table or countertop, and two receptacles underneath catch metal filings for disposal. The sharpener measures 8-1/4 by 5-3/4 by 4 inches, and is covered by a two-year warranty against defects. --Ann Bieri
