Customer Rating: Summary: MINE ARE SO OLD, I'VE LOST TRACK Comment: I have long fine hair, pretty much the long "Rachel" (Jennifer Aniston style when she was on friends). I use these as my sole set of rollers and I travel a lot so I stick them in the bottom shelf of my 26" suitcase and I have no problem. They are at least 6 to 7 years old and they still work great. The lid did crack a long time ago then eventually broke off completely. Guess what, they still work fine! I am looking to buy another set just for home so I can leave the old set in my luggage always. I have owned dozens of hairsetters before this one and this is my very favorite.
I think they are ideal for someone with longer hair because you NEED the jumbo size. I just put 3 to 4 rollers on the top of my head and that is all I need.
Buy them!
Customer Rating: Summary: One suitcase means smaller rollers! Comment: Now that we have to cram into one suitcase, i got these strictly for travel. I haven't yet had the other problems people say. I just love the size of the rollers. Thanks to the reviewer who said converter- I assume in europe that a converter would have to be used on everything and I will be sure to bring one.I have been stuffing the big set into my suitcase, but this one will fit much better and hopefully not looks so suspicious on an xray scanner.
Customer Rating: Summary: Ok in a pinch..... Comment: I got these for my mother who has fine, straight and semi-short hair....and they are ok, but not the best. The rollers are covered in a felt like material, and if your hair is fine it tends to slip off the roller...be prepared to roll it a couple of times before you get it right. The clips are good though, not as hard to place/use as the metal pin thing these curlers usually have. These heat up quickly and are convenient (although five rollers seems too few, but it is for travel right?), but not for precise styling.
Customer Rating: Summary: Love them Comment: I had never really used any rollers in the past. I found these super easy to use. They heat up instantly and create great results. My only issue was that its too big to travel with. I just use them every day at home.
Customer Rating: Summary: Just Fair Comment: These just don't get hot enough and take up more room in a suitcase than you think. I have a set of the Conair Ion rollers which heats up quickly and gets REALLY warm...so that each roller doesn't need to be in for very long. I have to plug these in for 15 minutes just to get them warmer than what is normal for THIS set. Then, they must be left in my hair for five minutes or more. Plus, in a set of only 5, they need to perform extra well, in case you need more than 5 rollers. With this set there is NO putting a roller back in the base expecting to get it hot again for another section of hair. Just way too slow and not hot enough...and my hair takes a curl easily and is not very thick. This set was a real disappointment and I don't use it anymore.
Would love to see Conair or Clairol or SOMEONE create a travel set with whiz-bang heating, and a sleek, in-line design of 6 jumbo rollers, that would fit neatly along the SIDE of a suitcase, instead of being a big ol' real estate-eating chunk of square plastic.
