Summary: Clicker CLT1D
Comment: All in all this works. Programming was relativly easy, once we figured out if we had DIP switches or smart button on our motor unit.

Summary: Finally figured it out for the Craftsman Red Smart Learn Button
Comment: The directions were a little confusing for an older remote/garage door opener that doesn't have DIP switches. I have a 1999 Craftsman opener with the RED smart learn button. I set the brand switches on the Clicker to Off-On-On-Off and the first DIP switch to Neutral, in the middle of on and off, and set the rest to off. It worked on the first try!

Summary: A Great and Versatile Remote Control
Comment: I use this remote to open the gate to my housing development. It sends a good signal from a reasonable distance so it is more than a garage door opener It is compatible with a large list of openers including gates I'm sure. It has a nice heft and hand feel. I actually own two of them since the old one I have has worked flawlessly for a number of years and battery life is excellent. Follow the instructions carefully when programming it -- it has little dip switches set to on/off to program the signal code. There is a little button sequence to lock it in. I kept running back and forth to the gate on a cold night in frustration until I read the part about locking the code in and became a math/engineering genius. If I can do it -- Mr. Impatient -- you can program it too.

Summary: Not very universal; packaging could use some clarification!
Comment: The packaging is pretty unhelpful about which systems it will and won't control. Unfortunately, our 12-switch DoIt (non-Intellicast) is one of the ones it won't. Back it goes!

Summary: Eats 9v batteries in a day or two
Comment: My Clicker seems to have developed a problem after being only a month old -- it eats an entire, fresh, brand-new 9v battery in a matter of days. I keep it in the door pocket of my car and I have repeatedly verified that the buttons aren't getting mashed. I know the button isn't geting stuck -- the LED on the front illuminates when you press it, and it goes off when you would expect it to. But I've now replaced the battery three times in two weeks. Each battery was a fresh, brand new 9v bought from different stores. Energizer, Duracell, didn't matter.

This makes my Clicker a useless paperweight.
