Summary: Mosquitoes, mosquitoes
Comment: My reason for obtaining this movie was to see the Mosquito fighter-bomber in action. The flying footage was spectacular until you get to the bombing sequence. Unfortunately, special effects of the Sixties were no where near what it is today in 2008. The bombers were obviously models that were destroyed by set explosive charges. When they were able to deliver the bombs, they always hit the same location. They saved money by using the same sequence. Some would criticize the overuse of today's computer special effects, but it would have helped this movie a lot. Unfortunately, it wouldn't help the storyline and the acting was half-hearted. The flying Mosquitoes are the only high point.

Summary: Former Bomber Pilot
Comment: I was always facinated with the Mosquito Bomber of the British forces and the story within the DVD explains why it was such a force against the Germans. Excellent video.

Summary: still a great movie
Comment: Still a great movie after all these years. A little over the top - but still good entertainment

Summary: 633 Squadron Will Please Mosquito Enthusiasts
Comment: Although the story line of this 633 Squadron is entirely fictional, the air and ground cinematography relating to the Mosquito fighter-bombers is good. There are a few scenes where models have been (unavoidably) used which, by today's standards, are just passable. Overall, it is good movie to keep for all aviation enthusiasts who wish to enjoy watching one of the well-regarded combat aircraft of World War II.

Summary: De Haviland Mosquito
Comment: The attraction of this film is that it contains actual footage of the De Haviland Mosquito a famous British bomber of WWII. Although the special effects seem dated the footage is worth the price of the DVD alone. Seeing this film for the first time was the inspiration to by and build the model of Mosquito bomber, the true star of this film.

Editorial Reviews:

Based on true events, this "exciting, engrossing [and] breathtaking" (The Hollywood Reporter) action-adventure stars OscarÂ(r) winners* Cliff Robertson and George Chakiris as two WWII fliers pitted against the Nazis in a do-or-die mission. Filled with "blazing, pulse-pounding and realistic air-fighting footage" (Boxoffice), 633 Squadron will "put your heart in your throat" (Los Angeles Times)! 1944. Allied forces learn that the Nazis are planning to pummel England with an all-out rocket blitz. The only way to stop the threat is to send Mosquito bombers into narrow Norwegian fjords to create an avalanche that will crush the Nazis rocket-fuel plants. Can Wing Commander Roy Grant (Robertson) and the boys of the courageous 633 Squadron pull it off? And if so, will they live to reap the glory?
