Summary: Good for a few months.
Comment: I liked it until it failed.
I thought this did a great job cooling my IBM T60. My laptop went from a smoldering high 40C to as low as 30C. I thought it was pretty loud, but I got used to it.
Then the fans started to fail. I ripped it apart, and WD-40'd it, but its just a matter of time until it stops spinning completely. I'm back on amazon looking for a replacement.

Summary: Actually allows you to use it as a laptop again
Comment: Computer's used to run a lot cooler... Then again, they didn't have nearly as much processing power. The result is that newer laptops are simply too hot to be used on your lap (at least not without some sort of buffer). Of course, if you use a pillow or blanket, it may likely choke the ability for your laptop to properly vent heat.
Using the Antec cooler is a much better solution. Thus-far (have been using it for a few weeks now) works great sitting under my PC but on my lap.
And, using HWMonitor, the laptop does have a noticeable improvement in lowering the temperature (at least on a Dell Latitude D610).
So, what are the con's? Well, there are a few:
1) It definitely will *not* hold a laptop with a 17" screen. Not a big deal (provided you have a 15.4" or smaller screen). And on the 15.4", if using one of the newer widescreens, while it fits, it's a bit close.
2) The fans are USB-powered. This would be fine if it was a standard USB cable connecting from the cooler to the laptop. Unfortunately it isn't. It's a standard USB connection on the PC-side, but for the cooler side, it's more like a power cord. This poses two problems. First, what happens if the cord breaks? I can't use one of the plethora of USB cables I already have. Second, the cord is a bit short. The instructions show the cooler should be positioned such that the outlet on the cooler is on the left side. Guess what? My USB port's are on the right side and on the back (right) side. This results in the cord being stretched a bit.
Have I tried any others? Yes -- I tried the DataStor UNBCPX 3-Fan Notebook Cooling Pad (or something that looks a LOT like it) -- the thing looked VERY shoddy. Perhaps it would have worked (I admittedly never gave it a chance) - got it in the mail, took one look and said to heck with this, I'm going with the Antec!

Summary: Works great with my Vaio
Comment: This notebook cooler works like a charm with my Sony Vaio VGN-N395E laptop. It is comfortable on my lap and it is so nice to not have a hot laptop on my thighs, and it works great when the laptop is on a table, couch, or bed, etc. The wide rubber feet make the cooler lap friendly.
When I bought this cooler (for $14.99 when Amazon offered it as a Gold Box Deal) I thought of it as a luxury, i.e., as something it would be nice to have but wasn't necessary. But now I think of it as something of a necessity. I don't know how the normal heat generated by laptops affects the life of laptops, but I do know that when I have no choice but to use my laptop on my lap, there comes a point when the heat is so uncomfortable that I feel compelled to stop using it for a while. The laptop cooler eliminates that problem.

Summary: Super quiet
Comment: I have been using this cooler for around 2 weeks now and it works just fine. It is so quiet I can't even tell it is on. I have a 17" laptop and it fits underneath just fine and the included rubber feet elevate the laptop above the cooler. I also like the pass through USB connector so it doesn't use up one of my USB slots.

Comment: the finishing is good. Not that louf at all! Good price for the quality received. If any cons then just the choice of material! A better (more robust) plastic would be desireable. But again, for that price absolutely OK!

Overheating laptops are a bigger problem than most people realize, as heat reduces system stability and harms the lifespan of your electronics. To combat this problem, you need the Antec Notebook Cooler! Increasing the cooling your laptop gets can help it last longer, and may reduce or even eliminate system crashes.
