Comment: Shaver performs fine, as I expected from the writeup and most customer reviews. Re: the complaints about having to take it apart to clean it - I found it to be not such a big deal.

Comment: I never did get the R-950. Amazon sent the XL600. I sent it back and asked them not to substitute. They did anyway and sent the XL600 to me a second time. I kept it because I needed a razor and did not want to fool with sending it back again. It does not shave as close as my old R-950 but it works ok. I will use it while trying to find somethine that works as well as my old R-950.

Summary: Very good and better than most
Comment: After using many different electric shavers over the years, including the Braun Activator, this is the first electric shaver that I did not have to use a blade after shaving with the electric razor. If that doesn't say it all, it certianly says something, since the cost of this razor is slightly more than Braun's replacement cutter and shield.

Summary: Nice shave, but trimmer died
Comment: Got it for Christmas about 3 years ago. Trimmer died about 2 years ago. Shaves pretty close, but takes a few passes on the neck. I think the battery isn't holding a charge as long as it did. I'm probably shaving too long with dull blades and should try replacing them, but with the broken trimmer, I guess I might have to replace the whole thing.

Summary: good shave, durability an issue?
Comment: I bought this shaver after having used other Remington models before and have been generally satisfied with the quality of the shave. The feature that specifically drew me to this model and other Remingtons previously is the pop-up beard and mustache trimmer. However, I've had this one less than two years and the trimmer has completely failed. The cutting heads are easily replaceable but apparently not the trimmer, so I'll have to replace the entire unit. That said, I'll probably go with this or a similar model.
