Summary: Could have gotten better at the grocery store
Comment: I have gotten pears in the past as part of gift baskets (not from this company) and they were always tender, juicy and flavorful. When I buy pears in the grocery stores, they may look good but they are hard as rocks and lack flaver. I figured I would try ordering these online in order to get some "gift basket quality" pears. These were a HUGE disappointment. They are all rock solid and lack flavor. They look nice but given the price and being classified as "gourmet", they are no better than what I could have gotten at the local grocery store and would have been a heck of a lot cheaper.
They were well packed and arrived promptly so the company has good service. Too bad the quality of their fruit is not as good.

Comment: I got these for my dad for his birthday and he loved them (and he's so hard to please). He said that they tasted great and he appreciated that I got him something healthy.
