Comment: Pas de Tot is so fun and I love it. It means step of the tot. The tot means little child. I was dancer in New York city. I am back now after a while. A little while.

Comment: My young ballet class likes the music on this cd and they recognize a few songs and start to sing along. Music is easy to follow and is a good cd to have for young ones. I just wish there were more on the cd.

Comment: My class of 3-4 year olds really likes the music on this CD, because it is familiar to them. I just wish the most popular songs repeated, so I would not have to keep stopping and going back one track.

Summary: Pas de Tot - A Must Have for Any Ballet Teacher
Comment: I had the honor of working with Steven Mitchell while dancing at the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre. His creative melodies made me look forward to class and kept my spirits high. I am delighted that Steven has made recordings of his work.(I think I own just about every one!) So now when I teach ballet class I always have the right tune at the right tempo at hand.
Pas de Tot has been the perfect accompaniment for my pre-ballet classes. The children love flexing and pointing their feet to "I'm a little teapot" and they have special dances to "Twinkle Twinkle" and "Gallopin' Grisi". Steven has even included repeats for exercises across the floor, so I do not have to stop my little ones from marching or skipping. Pas de Tot has become very popular around the ballet studio. I think just about every teacher owns a copy.

Summary: Pas de Tot--TOTally Terrific!!!!!!
Comment: As a teacher of preballet and especially creative movement, I am always searching for great, kid-centered music. This album is simply charming. I use it for classes that do only the bare essentials at the barre and stretches in the floor, and in a beginning ballet class. Not only is it suitable for class which is structured to teach beginning ballet, the tracks work well in a general movement class where dance games are the vehicle for learning. I knew that this album was a hit when my little ballerinas were singing along as they worked. The tracks move smoothly from one to the other, and they are the perfect length for the little ones. In addition, the music is beautifully played and arranged--very Steven Mitchell. Having had the wonderful privilege of having him as an accompanist and partner in my summer classes, I look forward to being able to have him in class with me, even if it is via a sound system.
If you see the name Steven Mitchell on an CD for dance class, you can be confident that this music is always danceable and played by a musician who is more than casually familiar with ballet classes. He is equally at ease providing beautiful music for tiny ones for whom dance is a new adventure, and for those working professionals who demand only the best. His Cd's are the ones in my cabinet of which I do not tire, and I anxiously await the production of the next one.
