Customer Rating: Summary: All My Favorite G N R Songs on One Disc Comment: This CD is awesome, I give it five stars because it has all my favorite g n r tracks on one CD album for a great low price. All their big hits singles they made MTV videos for. It never lets up. Good Christian metal, actually here keeping it G rated and school appropriate. I love it.
Customer Rating: Summary: always good!! Comment: Guns n Roses are always the best. I bought this as a replacement for a scrached up cd.
Customer Rating: Summary: Greatest Hits? Not Quite . . . Comment: First of all, as everyone who is looking at this album knows, GNR unleashed some kick a** rock, and are an icon of the 80's, despite their early flameout and general lack of albums. This set cherry picks the cream of the crop hits, like Welcome to the Jungle, Paradise City, Sweet Child O' Mine, November Rain, and You Could Be Mine.
What I could have done without was everything from their Spaghetti Incident album - where the band performed covers of songs it was clearly not designed for, and axl seems to be mocking the original artists with his renditions. Post - modern expressionism? Maybe. Social Commentary on how much society has changed? Perhaps. Good music? NO! What is especially sad is that they fit these atrocities on here, yet they couldn't find room for some of their second - tier classics, like Night Train, Mr. Brownstone, and My Michelle?
If you're a casual fan who only knows of Guns N' Roses by what you heard on the radio, this should suffice. However, the better option is to get Appetite for Destruction and download the MP3's of their best songs not included on that album.
