Customer Rating: Summary: very happy Comment: I'm really enjoying these chimes. This is my third chime from woodstock. They are really well made and my oldest one is already 10 yrs old. The sound is great and makes the wind in the thunderstorms an extra special addition. Can't miss with this purchase.
Customer Rating: Summary: nice, mellow sound, low tone. Comment: nice, mellow sound, low tone. so low that you don't hear it much at all. when you do, can't tell it's the notes to amazing grace. but it does sound nice, when you hear it.
Customer Rating: Summary: Yet another great Woodstock wind chime! Comment: I had to get this one for my collection of Woodstock Chimes. The tones are beautiful. This is quite a large wind chime and a great value.
Customer Rating: Summary: A Wind Blown Symphony! Comment: This is will go down as one of my top 5 purchases on Amazon. This chime quite simply delivers some of the most beautiful sounds I have ever heard.
There is nothing quite like a lazy Spring afternoon relaxing to the sounds of the enchanting chime.

Customer Rating: Summary: The Answer is Blowing in the Wind Comment: Woodstock makes several beautiful chime models, many of which "play" the notes of a well-known composition. Of course, this would be the deconstructionist version, because the notes sound in a semi-random order determined by the strength and direction of the wind, and perhaps the size of the individual chimes. No matter what order, however, the familiarity of "Amazing Grace" makes whatever notes sound recognizable as a variant. The tones are clear and beautful. The chime is simple, rather than overly worked or decorous, but that is perhaps most appropriate for "AMazing Grace," anyway. A little pricier than I would like, but this makes an excellent gift that can be enjoyed on several leverls: Visually, aurally, as text, and as part of a larger indoor or outdoor environment.

This chime plays the inspiring tones heard in the opening measures of Amazing Grace. Although the melody is of unknown origin, the lyrics were penned by Englishman John Newton in the late 18th century. As a sailor aboard a slave ship, Newton underwent a spiritual awakening while in a storm at sea. Years later, after he had denounced the slave trade and become an ordained minister, it was this experience that Newton recalled when he wrote, Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound. One of our most popular tunings, this is the largest size, and thus has the lowest tone of the series. 40'' tall with 6 anodized silver aluminum tubes.
