Summary: Looks like a great blade...but it doesn't fit
Comment: I really hoped that this blade and ring would help me solve the leak problem w/my extremely old blender. I really only needed the ring to stop the leaking, but figured that since my blender is so old, that it would be a great idea to go ahead and get the blade that came with the ring. They were too small for my blender. I don't know how old my blender is. With all of the reviews of people having good luck with their 20-25 yr old blenders, I thought it'd be worth a shot. I guess my blender is even older than theirs (like from the 60s, lol) I wish I could give a higher rating, but I don't know how well it works, the 2 stars is for quick delivery.

Comment: This blade is, as far as I can tell, exactly like the old one I replaced, which lasted me 20 years. It works well, and the gasket fits better than the one I had. It was just what I needed, and it's nice to be able to buy just the part you need instead of a whole new blender.

This blade does what it is supposed to do, in that if you put ice cubes that are not too big (I use cubes from the ice maker in the refrigerator), then this thing will crush the ice very well. I don't need to add any water to make this happen. However, if you are looking to be able to make a larger size of crushed ice, then this may not work. This blade makes a fine crushed ice pretty quickly. I don't know if you can stop the action in a way to control how big you want the ice. I also don't know how much ice you can put into the blender and get a good consistency. I didn't put in a whole lot since I know blenders don't do well with a lot of product in them of certain types that won't circulate well, such as ice all by itself.
To the complaints about the oil:
Yes there is oil on the blades when you get this. It's better than rust, which is what you would get if they were stored after manufacturing without the oil. Do you think these blades are manufactured on a regular basis? These aren't stock blades for the blender. Don't blame some middle man, such as whoever you are buying it from for not cleaning the product before shipping it. The vender is not displaying these on some shelf in a department store.

Summary: Works great, needs thorough cleaning before use
Comment: Agree with another user that item has oil on it. I had to wipe it off and then put warm water and soap in the blender to clean it completly. Blade works great, but it should not leave the factory looking and smelling like a petroleum product.
