Spotlight customer reviews: Customer Rating: Summary: Perfect for Champagne in a Stimless Glass!! Comment: I wanted something for drinking champagne without the fragility of a stemmed champagne flute. These are perfect! Of course, they are still delicate, but not as fragile as a typical champagne flute. Much better for parties. Lower center of gravity should assure fewer accidents. Also, if you are a fan of barley wines, this is a perfect sized beer glass for enjoying those VERY strong brews. As with ALL Reidel glassware, it is not inexpensive, but very high quality. Customer Rating: Summary: Nice Comment: These are nice glasses - a little big for my hand - I always feel like it could easily slip out. I like the stemless;, but it is very thin glass. We haven't broken any, but we do feel as if they would break easily. We ordered 4 and use them for "every day", but probably will not order more. Customer Rating: Summary: Don't actually own these, but ... Comment: Don't actually own these, but saw them when looking for other Riedel glasses and wanted to comment. The purpose of the long stem on a martini glass is to provide a way to hold the glass without warming it with your fingers. That's because martinis (real martinis - not "chocolatinis" or "tunatinis" or "bazookajoetinis" or whatever comes next) are meant to be sipped very, very cold. The design undercuts this two ways: it's too large (over 8 ounces) and unless one drains it fast, the contents will be cold, plus the liquid being in the stem will take on heat from the fingers. Riedel should know better! OK, so I'm a martini crank.
