Sylvania's four-head VCR features mono VHS recording and playback, a 1-year, 8-event programmable recording timer with one-touch timer recording, and onscreen menu display. The 6240VE's four heads provide finer picture quality than VCRs with just two heads, and its automatic head cleaners remove dirt and contaminants every time you insert or remove a cassette in order to preserve that clear picture. The 6240VE lets you freeze frame, view in slow motion, and advance frame by frame, as well as gives you two quick-search speeds (5x and 15x) when view tapes recorded in SLP (super long play) mode. Digital tracking lets you search for a specific point on the tape either by time or index, with a real-time onscreen counter. The VCR can be programmed and customized through onscreen menus, which can be displayed in English, Spanish, or French. Its 181-channel, direct-access tuner can accommodate up to 125 cable channels and offers the convenience of automatic channel programming. The 6240VE also includes automatic repeat play, a useful feature for demonstrations or tradeshows.
The 6240VE has a set of A/V inputs in front for easy connection of camcorders, digital cameras, and game consoles, in addition to RF, composite-video, and mono audio inputs and outputs on the rear of the unit. It includes a 27-key remote control.
