Summary: Guess who's back?
Comment: All right, so I hadn't really played any video game system of any kind for about 15 years. Got back into it last year. I hadn't really gone looking too deep into GBA games because I had the 2 or 3 games I thought I wanted. Then a couple months back I got thinking, 'I wish they would re-release some of the games I played in Junior High and High School.' So I did some looking. Imagine my surprise on finding one of the greatest games ever and one of my personal favorites was released. This has got to be the single best game ever made. I don't care if the graphics are dated or people don't understand it. It's just plain great. Now I do wish I could save my progress, but that's a minor complaint. I'm remembering a lot of the secrets so I can get through the levels fairly quickly. I just got this today, but give me a couple weeks, I'll be going from beginning to end in a sitting.

Summary: A true classic everyone should experience
Comment: Not much can be said that hasn't already been said about this all time video gaming classic. For those of you whose original NES will no longer function, despite all of your cartridge blowing and tapping, this serves as a valid substitute.

As far as I can tell, this is the same game that was originally released on the NES. There are no "special features" that are so often included with re-releases. Personally, I prefer it that way but some folks don't. Veteran gamers can relive the magic while new gamers can experience the classic for the first time.

Although this was designed for the Game Boy Advance, you can also play it on your TV if you have a "Game Boy Player", an accessory for the Game Cube. As of this writing, though, the Game Boy Player is discontinued so you'll have to find one used.

Summary: A FANTASTIC GAME!
Comment: I'm 12 years old, and it's been a long time since i picked up my GBA. Since I don't own a NES, I have not played the orignal "Super Mario Bros." Now I was looking online and I found this! This was my chance to play the orignal. But I know that the GBA can play original and color game boy games, I looked a little more. I found a game for the game boy color called "Super Mario Bros. Deluxe", which has this 1985 classic on it. So, it's still a great game, but you can get for cheap by buyng "Deluxe".

Summary: Pretty much the same as the original
Comment: I'll keep my review to the point:Super Mario Bros. for the GBA is generally no different than the original. After the GBA logo thing goes away there's a split second of black them the title screen. You press start to start playing then you go on a jumping,goomba-squashing spree. Everything is exactly where it was and plays the same.A=jump,B=run+fire balls,Start=pause.Like all Classic Nes Series games, the screen is a little squished because of the change from the T.V to th GBA.So when you're playing it it MIGHT feel a little different. The game might change in difficulty because both the control and the screen are in you're hand.Pretty much the same.HOWEVER, there are a couple of differences as nothing could be the same.First, if you hold L+R a menu will pop up,so you can basically pause the game ANY time with this feature. The menu includes: continue, save high score, reset, linked play, and sleep mode. The other change is that whem you beat the game, you could save with the option to save your high score. Also when you beat the game, koopas move faster and goombas turn into buzzy beatles that follow you when they touch something to make the game harder. So,DON"T SAVE WHEN YOU BEAT THE GAME to avoid this.Basically, it's the same game, with a few new features

Editorial Reviews:

An exact port of the Famicom/NES classic game for the Game Boy Advance handheld system in commemoration of the 20th Anniversary legacy of the original Nintendo Famicom system (and the release of the Famicom Edition Game Boy Advance SP system). The 2D platformer, designed by Nintendo's legendary figurehead Shigeru Miyamoto, still remains in our minds the most intuitive and addictive entry in the genre. The title stars "Jump Man" himself, Mario, along with his brother Luigi, and takes players through more than 30 colorful levels of varied theme and design, all of them packed with cute, stylized enemies like the goombas and a wide array of platforms and obstacles. Super Mario Bros. is the first major showpiece for Nintendo's heightened quality of gaming: full of depth, layered with tight control and remarkably clever level creation that spills with secrets and extras!
