Comment: This doorbell is pretty cool. It has different options for the number of chimes and it is easy to post the button by door. But sometimes it goes off when there is no one at the door. Weird...

Summary: Don't buy this! It cannot be trusted.
Comment: I received this about a week ago, and after much moving around of the button I discovered that it is only reliable in the same room as the bell unit. About 30' away, through a glass window and a plaster wall, and it only worked 50% of the time.
If there is a doorbell button people will push it, and half of the time you won't know a thing about it and whoever it is will do what they do when no one answers the door. The unit is not to be trusted; it is worse than useless. Mine is in the trash, along with almost double its value in batteries for which I now have no use.

Summary: Tone quality lacking...
Comment: This doorbell functions nicely, has a good range, and the button functions easily with a press. I haven't had anyone ring this bell and it not respond yet. I am however a little disappointed in the tonal quality of the bell. The bell sounds a little 'brassy' and too loud for the speaker. It sounds like they are trying to get too much volume out of an inferiour speaker resulting in a 'tinny' rattling distortion. Over distance it is ok, but up close it is rather annoying. But Westminster chimes are always soothing enough, even if distorted a bit. A decent product for a good price.
To amend this review, however, I have found that the door bell fails to chime after the remote is pushed on numerous occasions. I tested the bell after this to find out that it has nothing to do with how "well" someone pushes the button or not. It just fails to transmit every so often. So, I guess this is a great doorbell if you don't want to be bother by every annoying person who comes along and rings your bell. The rings you are guaranteed to get are those by people who are persistent ringers, and if the people you want to see are persistent people, then this bell is for you. However, if you want everyone who rings to be attended to, you might want to try a better bell...

Comment: Great product works perfectly. Did have to change the jumpers because it was going off randomly, but doing that took 5 minuets and was very easy. I would defiantly buy it again. Very loud, so you can hear it through the house and being able to move it also helps, but you can also adjust the volume if you don't want it to be loud.

Summary: Does Exacly What You Bought It To Do
Comment: This doorbell has been a gift from on high as far as I'm concerned. I live in a major city on the third floor of a converted brownstone, in the heart of the business district. My apartment had of course at one point been part of a single family home, but the bell wiring was never at any point converted over to accommodate what is now a 7 apartment residence. All of us missed getting a lot of packages. I asked the landlord if it was alright for me to install a wireless bell, he agreed, and I haven't missed a package since.
The chime's volume is adjustable, and can be set to very *LOUD* folks. Missing a package or visitor because you didn't hear it ring is just not going to happen. It came with both double sided tape and screws as options to attach the bell to a door or panel; I chose the tape as I don't own this property, and it's stuck fast through rain and intense cold for the last three months. Hopefully, I'll be able to say the same after the summer's over.
I should also mention that I haven't, to this point, experienced problems with this bell going off because someone activated their car alarm or, more significantly, because of the two additional wireless bells that others in my building also now have attached to the door. Even if this had been the case, this model has eight jumpers that allow you to change the bell's frequency (and tone). If you find that you're having problems with the bell randomly ringing, just open it up and switch a few jumpers around until you find a frequency that's sufficiently different from the ones around you that are causing you problems; the instructions show very clearly how to do this, and it's easy (I've done it once already; not because I was having a problem, but because I wanted the bell to have a specific tone). There are dozens of combinations to choose from.
This is a fantastic product for the price. Highly recommended.

If you need a doorbell but are a little nervous about doing your own wiring, then wireless is the way to go. With Heath Zenith's wireless doorbell systems, all you need to do is mount the doorbell and the chime-no electrical installation is needed. With the SL-6153, the volume of the chime is adjustable, and you can select one of three different chimes, and the two-inch magnetic speaker gives you a rich, true-sounding tone. You can select from 128 code settings (which allow the doorbell to communicate with the chime) to make sure your neighbor's wireless systems won't set of your chime. The battery for the doorbell is included, along with all the mounting hardware you'll need. Note that you will have to supply three D batteries for the chime.--Josh Dettweiler What's in the Box
