Summary: security in an insecure time
Comment: In the last six months, we've had about seven break-ins in our apartment complex. The police are doing what they can with an MO that includes knocking on your front door and if you don't answer, it gets kicked in. This prompted us to buy these door bars and we're very happy with them. They were easy to put together and easy to maintain. I recommend them to anyone in a similar situation.

Comment: I am a single female living in an apartment that has its own outside entrance. My friend came over and we tested it out - he stood outside and tried to "break in" and the security bar really held the door closed well. I would recommend when you put the bar in at night that you use your foot to kinda pound in the bottom of the bar (the part on the floor) to give it a little more of a wedge.

Comment: This device is very sturdy. I went outside and my wife put it against the door. When I tried to get in, the door did not budge at all!It's easy to use and my order arrived within days. Excellent product for the price.

Comment: Not any more secure than a piece of wood, but a nice feature is that you can change the length. That way, if you want to keep the sliding door open just a few inches, you're able to do so and an intruder would not be able to open it further. Gives you a little bit of piece of mind at night.
