Comment: I enjoy House, and watching the first season on DVD (catching up from before I knew how I awesome it was) is a perfect way to really get to know House and the whole crew.

Summary: Hugh Laurie Is Wonderful
Comment: House is not a doctor you want for his bedside manner, but want for his knowledge. Hugh Laurie is perfect as the brilliant, yet very mercurial and socially hampered, House.
Like Law & Order, each episode starts with a teaser of what is happening and there are often some great twists right from the beginning, what you expect to happen to start the show may not be what you think.
Surrounded by a great supporting cast, both as actors and as characters to House, the medical mysteries are engrossing as they work to find cures for the uncurable and unknown. One of the better written shows on television and not your standard medical drama.
Highly recommended.

Summary: Great show but BSwidescreen is annoying
Comment: I'm happy to watch these DVDs because I enjoy the show immensely, but I've reduced my rating in protest of what I call BSWidescreen, where they have delivered a letterboxed 4:3 image rather than an anamorphic widescreen disc. To label the product "widescreen" is BS and a ripoff. Sure, we can fill our screen up by using the ZOOM mode, but then we are watching a lower resolution picture and the top and bottom picture clipping will be imperfect on some TVs. Too bad, since the show is otherwise good.
