Comment: I bought this because my straightener of five years is, well, in need of replacement.
Having short-to-medium length hair, I thought that a smaller size would be perfect.
I bought this particular straightener because it was so highly rated. But I returned it the day after I first turned it on. Why? Because it did not heat up properly. I put it on the highest setting because my hair is thick and difficult to straighten, and then promptly forgot about it. When I came back to it half an hour later, it was warm, but not hot. I could touch the ceramic plate with my finger.
Needless to say, back in the box it went and my old tired straightener needs to work a bit longer until I can bring myself to try again.

Comment: This is one great flat-iron! I was so lucky to find one that gets adequately hot and is durably made for only $23. I'd recommend it to anyone. I have very fine hair that needs high heat, and it holds its style until the next morning when I wash my hair again!

Comment: I had one of the OLD flat irons from when they first came out, was awful. Started looking for a new one after trying my niece's (hers was about $135!!) I didn't want to pay that much, and then I saw this one and saw all of the GREAT feedback from customers. They aren't kidding. Not only does this product work fantastically, it's CHEAP! I was on the phone when this arrived and I couldn't wait to try it. I kid you not, I did my hair with ONE HAND! This thing is AMAZING!!! I also think it's great cuz the plates don't go to the edge, so, no burning yourself, and it had a large selection of heat settings so you don't burn your hair. I did my whole head in less than 5 minutes....probably about 3, and that's one-handed, lol! This is an amazing product that lives up to all that it promises. If you're in the market for one of these, this is the one to get.

Comment: I have owned two different Conair flat irons (from Wal-Mart)...junk, absolute junk. Using them was like not straightening your hair at all. Upon my hairdresser's advice, I was saving up for a Chi. That's what she uses on my hair, and it always ends up silky, smooth, and straight. I needed something to use while waiting to buy the Chi, and that's when I found this. I reluctantly ordered it because it looks so much like my darn Conair, and it's about the same price, so I was expecting to get the same results. Wrong! While this iron doesn't give me the superb results that my stylist's Chi does, it does light years better than the Conair. For the price, you cannot go wrong. Tip, to prevent getting dry, broom-like hair with tons of flyaways and split ends, be sure to use some kind of protective spray or lotion, *every time*.

I used this flat iron TWICE before it STOPPED WORKING!! I plug it in, the light comes on, I leave it for about 30 minutes, and when I come back it is barely warm! And I have it turned up to the highest heat setting! I'm not wasting any more money on imitations...I'm buying a Chi right now!
