Summary: Extremely enjoyable cheddar.
Comment: I have purchased this aged cheddar several times, both for myself and for gifts and in my opinion it is superior to many of the products available either in local stores or on line.
I want a sharp cheddar that has a distinct flavor that stands up well to other flavors, assertive but not overpowering and this product is exactly what I like. Friends and family who received it as gifts have subsequently ordered it on their own and all have raved about it.
The texture has a buttery feel that is perfect for nibbling by itself, with fruit or on crackers and it melts smoothly without even a hint of the grainyness which I find so unpleasant in many cheddars.
It is perfect topping a wedge of warm apple pie or pear tart.
The service from this vendor is also exceptional. I can't say enough about their attention to the satisfaction of their customers.
