Summary: Good little unit
Comment: Overall not a bad unit. I used it to set my guitar effects pedal output volume level, so that the volume level would be the same for each selection. The only slight downside is the unit automatically shuts itself off to conserve the batteries, which got irritating while I was working. If I want it off, I'll turn it off and if I forget, shame on me!

Comment: I use this meter to take OSHA readings in our plant. It is great to show the workers how loud it actually is and helps them with wearing ear protection more consistent.

Measure the decibel level of your dog's bark so that when your neighbors complain--you can say authoritatively: I am sorry and will try to remedy the situation but I measure only 60 decibels at your front door.
Measure the decibel level of your stereo and see how many hours a day you can listen to it without having to save up for a hearing aid. (I don't think you can measure headphone output with it).
Measure the sound level when your uncle Frank passes wind so you can congratulate him on his new record.
