Summary: Good, but I wouldn't purchase again
Comment: I own & am reviewing the Rosebud compact.The previous reviewer did an excellent job of describing the colors & the uses, so I won't go into that again. I do like the colors here and they look good on. The packaging is sturdy, which I like too.
My gripes with this product are as follows: The lasting power of these lip colors are pretty fleeting considering the price, in my opinion. Also, the mini brush isn't very good. When I use the brush the bristles come out on my lips and they are fine and hard to see. They end up getting in your teeth and mouth...arghhh! You could use your own brush, but you should be able to use the one that came with the product!
While I like this Laura Mercier product, but I wouldn't repurchase it again. There are better lipsticks for the money.

Comment: Oh, the lips of woman do so many things, play so many roles. In the morning they drink coffee leaving your territorial mark on the cup saying, "I am woman. Here's my java." During the day they make presentations, speak with clients, suck up to the boss, and plead for the world to take you seriously. At lunchtime your lips gossip, ahem `keep up with what's goin' on' and share share share with your girlfriends and fellow office mates. Brown Suede:

From medium golden brown tones to a sheer, lip colored red -- a red that anyone, yes even you, can wear, the Brown Suede compact will interject a little life, albeit safely, into an otherwise flat brown color palate. If you've never worn red before, consider the darkest shade your `starter kit' red. As a safety net you can always tone it down a tad with one of the other three shades in the Brown Velvet spectrum. The the second color is a sheer chocolate with the tiniest hint of gold. The third color is a brighter golden brown and the last is a beautiful fleshy tone with just enough gold to make your lips look rounder and fuller. The four colors also mix together beautifully to easily give you a custom look.
Pink Suede:
These colors say, "come play with me. I don't bite."
Four colors that resemble the color of natural lips -- two of them a bit lighter and two of them a bit darker, Pink Suede is an easy set of colors to wear. So lush and so natural looking, you may even fool your friends into thinking your lips are naturally that pretty color. Wear this compact and you're guaranteed that what comes OUT of your mouth rather than what sits upon it will get all the attention.
Plum Suede:

Play up your more dramatic side while still keeping to the safe side of the fence. Plum Velvet is where you can mix it up a bit with color and contrast. A sheer dark plum moves to a sheer burgundy sitting next to the prettiest dark mauve and finishes with a lighter mauvey pink color. Put one on top of another on top of another -- the colors are strong yet sheer enough that they won't look too intense.
