Customer Rating: Summary: Really funny, definitely worth the purchase Comment: If you've never heard Demetri Martin or you're familiar with him, you need to pick up this CD/DVD. Great material which you never get tired of. Recommended.
Customer Rating: Summary: If you're going to be derivative, do it like this Comment: Yes, Dimtri Martin sounds a bit like a less-medicated Mitch Hedberg, who sounded a bit like a more-medicated Steven Wright. But his material is just so funny, and his timing so spot-on that it's easy to overlook. Plus, on contrast to either of those obvious influences, Martin strolls a little bit into exposition as opposed to the monotonous rhythm of set-up:punchline, set-up:punchline... that could drive a listener a little bats on Hedberg's "Mitch All Together" recording. In contrast to the frat-oriented humor of the Dane Cook conglomerate, this is actually modern humor that most generations can get into. Boomers will see similarities to George Carlin (ref., FM/AM).
Drop this entire CD into your iPod or Zune, listen on your way to work and I guarantee you will arrive where you're going a refreshed state of mind.
Customer Rating: Summary: This is a review. Comment: I agree he is very Mitch Hedberg-ish. But so? He is still funny. I like Hedberg, and Wright, too.
I enjoyed this and "Person.". Buy both, it's not like you have anything else to do today.
Customer Rating: Summary: Very funny comedian 4.5 stars Comment: Demetri is hilarious. Not quite as random and funny as early Steven Wright but his off-beat material is very funny and not as off-color as many comics today. There was unnecessary profanity so we didn't let the kids listen to some of it, but after once thru we just skipped certain parts of the CD. He mixes genres, especially on the DVD, art and music and even has someone explaining his jokes at one point which is funny.
He's almost as funny as Steven Wright and Mitch Hedburg but he's young enough to surpass them if he keeps getting better. I've followed him on Comedy Central for awhile and he seems to be going the right direction but in the meantime, if you can withstand a few f-bombs and like off-beat observational humor you'll enjoy this.
Customer Rating: Summary: Mitch Hedberg-ish Comment: If you like Mitch Hedberg you will like this guy. If not, then maybe not so much.

This comic has a seemingly endless supply of endearingly off-kilter one liners and an over-active imagination. He's one of the most unique voices in comedy today and has written for/performed on Conan O'Brien, Letterman, and Carson Daly. He's the latest correspondent on The Daily Show with his critiques on pop culture. In 2003, he taped his first stand-up special, "Comedy Central Presents Demetri Martin" which remains one of the highest rated half hours on the network. This release puts all his best material on one CD. The DVD compiles the Comedy Central Presents and a bunch of other secret stuff.
