It works well enough for my 7-year-old daughter's hair, with some pulling of hair and pain involved, but it's very difficult to use for my thick, wavy hair. I also wish that the maker of this comb would also come up with some sort of a cleaner for the VERY tight grooves on the comb. Just washing the comb doesn't clean the dirt that collects.
