Comment: I have Vista on my laptop and do alot of traveling and wanted to connect to internet using USB Date Cable..software is not compatible with Vista ..waste of money!

Comment: For less than $5 (including shipping) this is a bargain, especially considering many vendors (Verizon, Susteen, etc.) are charging $20 or $30 for a cable. Download the open source software BitPim and you are all set to back up your cell phone data. I've also enjoyed creating my own ringtones from my MP3 files, again a savings over downloading them from Verizon.

Summary: It's great on Vista
Comment: This works great on windows vista! On Vista you plug it in and if finds the drivers automatically! For putting things on the phone you would need to download the program called BitPim : http://www.bitpim.org/. You can put videos onto your phone and get videos from you phone. My favorite is putting on ringtones. You just need a mp3 song of the what you want for your ringtone and you can edit how long and where you want the ring tones to start. My phone is a VX8300. P.s. the CD that comes with the USB connector cable is useless.

Comment: I ordered this sync cable on a Wed. and had it on Friday. The price is about as cheap as you can get even with shipping. The sync cable worked perfectly the first time and no problems to date. Thanks Amazon!!

Summary: works, with a little finesse
Comment: I tried to use the "software" included on the CD, but it was just a bunch of html files with dead links. It took a bunch of google searches and forum browsing, but I finally found some drivers that worked with my phone and the cable...I also must note that the cable did not have the right slots on the phone end, and so I had to scratch some of the plastic off, but otherwise it works fine and has not ruined my phone.
I use bitpim for connecting to my phone.
