Summary: Not long enough, but otherwise works
Comment: I have had the older ones without the silicon grip for over a year now. I do like the fingers on them, because you can actually grip things as opposed to oven mitts where you really can't. That is a big plus. Next pair will be the ones with the silicon grips, because the older ones are sometimes slippery.

Yes, you do have to put things down fairly quickly. No holding hot pans for much over 10 or 15 seconds, that's for sure.

Also, they were just too short for me. I kept burning the inside of my forearm just above where the gloves hit when turning loaves of bread out of the baking pans when they were hot, then hit on the idea of extending them using my sewing machine.

I took dish towels - the terrycloth ones used to dry dishes - folded them lengthwise to have a double thickness, trimmed them to fit around my arm and match the size of the wrist part on the gloves, and sewed them onto the gloves, sealing all edges securely. Now, they come all the way up to my elbows! No more burning my arms! I would put a picture in here if I knew how to do it.

For the next version of these gloves, I suggest the manufacturer make them longer like I did, or at least have a version like that. In the meantime, those of you with sewing abilities can do what I did. You will be glad you did! I am.

Summary: Comments by a New Dad - Lousy
Comment: Lousy. I have no idea what products others have been reviewing. I read all the reviews, very impressive, and I made sure I bought a pair of these, and got them a week ago. Forget the high-tech nonsense, what a joke! These are no better than a cheap pair of pot holders or oven mitts. Sure, they cover your wrists, big deal. I took a tray of cookies I had baked with my daughter out of the oven, held it in one hand for about 7 seconds (literally) while I cleared some counter space, and I felt the tray start to get uncomfortably hot through the glove by the time I put it down. Mind you, I am talking about cookies at 350 degrees here. No way these things could hold anything really hot or anything for a long carry time without burning me. I am dumping them for garage use and getting something else. What a disappointment.

Summary: Works well. Recommended.
Comment: This was my second purchase of an ove glove in case we want one for each hand. My wife uses it in the kitchen and I have used it on the grill, also. Works well flipping metal shishkebobs on BBQ grill and handling hot items on the stove. Just one thing to be mindful of is if there is a chance that you can get boiling hot water dripped or splashed onto the glove while you're wearing it, the water will seep through the glove and to your skin and if it's hot enough you could possibly get burned. Other than that it's a good product that I recommend and use often.

The new improved Ove Glove offers all of the same benefits of the original plus a few more. The new design has a non-slip silicone grip and can now withstand temperatures up to 540 degrees. If you love your old style ove glove you'll love this one even more! Makes a great gift for the cook or baker in your life.
