Customer Rating:      Summary: Something Different Comment: I'm trying to work in some different things into my exercise and have tried a couple types of dance workouts. I love latin music so this one sounded good. I found this DVD to be alright. I'm a true dance beginner and found this doable but at times a bit too fast and requiring more coordination then I seem to have. I'll try it a couple more times before deciding whether to put it in regular rotation or not.
Customer Rating:      Summary: Hard to follow; hard on knees Comment: I've had a couple of salsa lessons, and even with that, I found this hard to follow. Her cueing is very poor, so you can't follow her instructions. And to make matters worse, quite often the camera doesn't show the participants' feet so it's very hard to figure out what they're doing by watching.
I would steer very, very, very clear of this one if you have knee problems, too. There's a lot of twisting your legs from side-to-side that I found very painful.
Customer Rating:      Summary: beginners NOT welcome Comment: Colorful aesthetics, moderately fun and challenging steps. HOWEVER, the video is shot for watching NOT for participating. The timing fluctuates between cha cha, merengue and salsa without notice. Familiarity with each dance does not make it much easier to be successful following the format. Steps are often NOT to the beat. If you like being on beat and in sync with others...this is not the video for you.
Customer Rating:      Summary: Having fun working off the inches!! Comment: What great fun! This video really works the body especially the legs. The best thing about this video is that when you are done, you have had a great workout and learned a few moves for the dance floor. If you need a break from the old routine and want to try something fun, this is the ticket. The music is great and Stella is a great instructor.
Customer Rating:      Summary: Very rudamentary dancing, easy, relaxed pace Comment: I rented this online. I love dance workouts which I feel I can learn to be more fluid/graceful in my movements, learn some new moves & doesn't feel like exercising!
This had very rudimentary, boring movements. The music wasn't motivating either at all. Stella has enthusiasm but dances stiffly w/most of the other girls & the intention here mostly is to tone/lose weight rather then to be more relaxed & flow with the dancing.
This dvd is only for those new to exercising, for light days for anyone who exercises more then 1x/week & only for those who have 2 left feet or are shy to try real dance workouts.
