Summary: Stinks for Silver
Comment: All the silver I put in this box turned black in just a few days time. Afterwards, the tarnish would not come off of some pieces. It may ruin your sterling silver.

Comment: As convenient as this was to departmentalize my earrings, I cannot recommend it as it tarnished all my silver jewelry. I think it has something to do with the material used to line the box. It would be a great find if the inside material was changed to something that did not damage jewelry.

Comment: If you have any Silver jewelry, do not buy this item! It took only a few days for every silver item I put into it to turn black with tarnish. I was looking for a place to organize my earrings and ended up having to spend more money to have the tarnish removed. Some items had to be thrown away. I am not happy at all with this product!! It will be returned if Amazon has any repute!

Comment: This box turned all my silver jewelry black. I threw it away because I just didn't want to deal with it anymore. I would have been better off getting one of those plastic containers with compartments from an arts and crafts store.

Comment: Like another reviewer wrote, I put silver jewelry in the box (and I didn't even know that the jewelry was real silver) and it tarnished in days. The same jewelry had been in another box, from JC Penney, for months and hadn't tarnished. My "regular" jewelry, gold tone but not real gold, also lost its shine, those had also been in my plain old JC Penney jewelry box without problem. Nice design on this box, but they obviously didn't test the materials for its purpose.
