Customer Rating: Summary: Awesome Comment: Nice Camera with nice quality photos. I would suggest getting some sort of screen protector... Its worth the few dollars to prevent scratches. There is also a way that you can add software and added features to the camera. I would suggest this product to anyone.
Customer Rating: Summary: I love this camera Comment: It's with me every where I go. Incredibly useful and great for capturing life's unexpected moments. It's by no means going to live up to more professional cameras, but as far as getting shots of my friends at a party or a great view is concerned it's tops.
Always with me in my bag or back pocket. Easy to navigate options as far as exposure/pixels/focus are concerned.
The only thing this camera isn't going to do for you is take super super detailed shots. If you're just looking for something to capture moments and great views, but don't want to worry about lugging around a huge item you're worried about breaking this is an amazing buy.
Customer Rating: Summary: Durability to the max! Comment: I recently purchased this camera after I dropped my other one and bent/broke the lense while extended. I'm a wildland firefighter and this thing lives in my pocket 24/7 while on fires. So it gets it's fair share of abuse and it takes it. I bought an Otter Box and with a small amount of added padding it protects it very well while not adding too much bulk. It takes great pictures for my intended purpose.
Customer Rating: Summary: Easy to use and good quality photos Comment: This is my third digital camera and by far the most compact and easiest to use of all my previous cameras -- including the point and shoot box cameras of my youth as well as more advanced SLR cameras with interchangeable lenses and the two earlier digital cameras. The instructions are detailed but understandable It actually does fit in a shirt pocket since it is no bigger than a deck of playing cards. I particularly like its battery pack with supplied charger.
Customer Rating: Summary: Excellent Camera Comment: I purchased this camera based on the positive reviews it and other similar Canons have received on this and many other websites, and because I have several friends who own either an SD1000 or SD750. We also use the SD750 at my office for structural inspections and it's a great camera. It's been several years since I've purchased a camera - our old Sony Cybershot has been a very good one, but at 3.2MP it's not going to cut it anymore. When it comes to electronics, I've always been a Sony person in the past, so I was a little skeptical at first. But the reviews don't lie, and this camera has lived up to it's good name thus far.
I'm not a photographer. I just want to be able to pick up a camera and take quality pictures of my family whenever it's convenient, and the SD1000 has been a great purchase. I had a hard time deciding between the SD750 and SD1000 - it looks like the only difference is the size of the LCD screen (the 750 has a 3" screen but no viewfinder, and is slightly larger overall)- but I went with the 1000 because I wanted a viewfinder. Our last camera's LCD screen cracked in the middle of a Disney World trip, but we were still able to take photos by looking through the viewfinder.
Overall, I highly reccomend this camera for anyone who wants to take great photos without a lot of fuss.

Canon looked to the very first ELPH for inspiration when designing the PowerShot SD1000 Digital ELPH, and came up with a quintessential iteration of the icon: slim, clean-lined and fully flat. Inside, the SD1000 Digital ELPH looks only to the future: 7.1 megapixels, a 3x optical zoom and advanced DIGIC III ensure top-quality images, while focus is fast and sharp and red-eye is automatically corrected. The large and more colorful LCD screen now has a tough, anti-reflective coating that makes it as durable as it is beautiful.
