Summary: Michael Buble "Call Me Irresponsible"
Comment: This is an amazing selection of "oldies" sung in the inimitable style of Michael Buble. He revives an old Frank Sinatra song ("The Best is Yet To Come") making it his own. His rendition of "Call Me Irresponsible" is irrepressible and wonderful. His voice is so smooth it could be termed "vocal silk." This young Canadian singer is talent at it's very best and worth many hours of relaxing, beautiful music.

Summary: Reminds Me of Harry Connick Jr.
Comment: I love this music/sound: the old school jazz/motown/swing. I love it! He reminds me of Harry Connick Jr. because he remakes the songs of the "older" generation. He does a great job and this CD is really good. I love the song, "Everything" because it's an original but also because it makes me feel good. The covers he does are good too...so I highly recommend this CD.

Summary: Michael Buble's "Call me Irresponsible"
Comment: I am a rock music fan, but I thought I'd give this Michael Buble cd a chance. I enjoyed "Everything" and "Lost", two songs which were not covers. His cover of Eric Clapton's, "Wonderful Tonight" was not my cup of tea. If I could give Michael Buble a piece of advice, it would be for him to release of cd of his own original music.

Summary: The best is yet to come... I believe you, Michael!
Comment: Michael Buble's first two albums introduced us to him and his genre... he brought swing back, at least to many of us for whom swing was the stuff of decades ago. With this album he expressed his desire to make it different and yet something he'd be proud to give his listeners, and I think he has succeeded. Call Me Irresponsible sees Buble putting his own spin on old classics and ballads, and adding a few of his own compositions.
For those who've become accustomed to the sound of his first two albums and are doubtful of hearing something new, as I was, listen to this with an open mind. With bossa nova, acapella, Latin flavours, R&B and even a gospel choir in the mix, this album is innovative and diverse, yet still very much the Michael we've come to love, and more definitive of his direction as an artist. With focus and versatility like that, it's not hard to believe that for Buble, the best is yet to come.

Summary: Exquisite, as always!
Comment: Michael is one of the very best entertainers out there today! His voice is so smooth, sexy and witty too. I just love that man!

Editorial Reviews:

It's no coincidence that Michael Bublé's new album starts with just his voice and some fingersnaps on "The Best Is Yet to Come," a song made famous by Frank Sinatra. The Canadian smoothie looks longingly towards early-'60s Vegas, an impression quickly reinforced when a boisterous horn section makes its grand entrance, about 20 seconds into the track. That Bublé means business is confirmed by the second cut, a fast-paced take on Henry Mancini's "It Had Better Be Tonight," and of course by the CD's very title, another song identified with Sinatra as his cockiest. There are just a few sidesteps from the retro formula that's served Bublé so well so far: a languid duet with Brazilian star Ivan Lins on the bossa "Wonderful Tonight," a gospel choir on "That's Life." Interestingly, Bublé co-wrote the best of those sidesteps, "Everything," a Norah Jones-esque number that alluringly harks back to sunny '70s pop. It's also the only song on the album produced by Bob Rock (best known for his work with Metallica), sending out a strong signal that Bublé should reach out to unlikely collaborators more often. --Elisabeth Vincentelli
