Spotlight customer reviews: Customer Rating: Summary: poor materials - bad warranty Comment: If you buy one of these, be sure to keep the reciept! Bought one of these from Home Depot in 2003, claimed to have a 10 year warranty, but the plastic lens cracked and the unit quit working within 3 years. Took it back to Home Depot; they refused to honor the warrenty because all I had was the dated warrenty certificate and not an origional sales reciept. Customer Rating: Summary: Not for use with flourescent lights Comment: This sensor will not work with a flourescent light. I didn't see that information in the description although it may be there somewhere. It will work only with an incadescent light bulb. It will not even register with my little AC test lamp that has a neon (presumed) bulb in it to tell whether there is 120v or 220v present. The Heath Zenith SL-5316-WH-A gives you a 240-degree sensitivity zone, and the range is adjustable from 15 to 100 feet (the low range is convenient if you don't want your light going off every time a car drives by). It also features "Dual Brite" lighting, which means you can use it for low-level accent lighting in addition to the full-light effect you get with motion-activation. An included timer allows you to set low-light mode for three hours, six hours, or dusk to dawn (an automatic photocell deactivates the unit in daylight). You can also turn the light on and off at will via the manual override that mounts to an existing indoor switch. Requires 300 watt bulb.
