Summary: Save your receipt, might not work for you
Comment: I've used Braun shavers exclusively for about 25 years. And, until now, was very happy with them. This one just doesn't shave very well for me. I've used it now for a few months hoping it would improve but it hasn't. Even if I make a concerted effort to get a close shave I can feel, and see, stubble - mostly around my lips. I can remove that leftover stubble easily with my older Braun Contour 5790 shaver. I had an even older model Braun with a dead battery but I plugged that in to see and it can also easily remove the stubble left behind by the Pulsonic.
I talked to a service rep thinking mine must be faulty but they said that was very unlikely. It seems the Pulsonic (and its predecessor) have a completely redesigned cutting system and it just doesn't work well for my whiskers. I don't think they're unusual but I guess so - perhaps they lay flatter than most - I have no idea.
It does a great job on my thinner neck hairs which the previous shavers didn't do great on. And, I love the feel of the Pulsonic, the sound, and the cleaning system. But, when my five o'clock shadow appears at noon I really miss my old shaver. I've given this one plenty of time - I'll be looking to purchase something else soon.

Summary: Braun continues it's product quality
Comment: My last two electric shavers have been Braun so after reading up on this one and checking the reviews, I figured I'd give it a try despite the $200.00+ price(yes, I am frugal). Once again, Braun didn't let me down as this shaver does an excellent job of making my face baby smooth. If I just go over my face quickly, it keeps me pretty smooth most of the day. If I take my time and do a thorough job, it'll keep me smooth into the next morning. And no shaving foam/gel to deal with. Woo-hoo!
I also like the readout that tells me when I need to clean and charge it up. No wondering... did I clean this yesterday or was it three days ago?

Comment: I have tried every electric shaver there is, and none will compare to this one. I simply is the best there is. It will need the usual two to three weeks to get used to.
It is worth the extra money in every respect.

Summary: Enhanced new shaving experience
Comment: I upgraded my old Braun 7500 series to the new Braun Pulsonic System 9595 recently, and I must say that this new shaver has given me the best shave I ever had to date with an electric razor. The power and smoothness is awesome. No razor burn nor any problems tackling whiskers regardless of which way they grow. The cleaning system (which uses the same cleaning cartridges as older models) regulates how much cleaning is needed between shaves, saving the need to replace the cleaner too often. If you like using an electric razor this is the unit to get. Well worth it.

Summary: Approach Cautiously
Comment: I think worryingly my comments have been expressed repeatedly and the problems I have experienced seem to be shared by others.
I have thick dark stubble and the following is what I found.
The problems so far are that I just don't get a clean shave. There is no way I can arrive at work with patchy stubble like this. I know many say 3 weeks but what should I do in those 3 weeks? I don't have time to practice which is the reason I got this but I guess I'll keep trying. I just had to resort to a wet shave this morning though.
The shaver gets hot, doesn't clean shave, despite going over the same area several times (very difficult on chin and neck) and stretching the skin in all directions, and actually starts to irritate by the end of the shave. Very worryingly, its been catching on slightly more prominent stubble! Ouch....
On the plus side, the parts that do shave well are very clean (just below the sideburns), the unit looks great, it has excellent grip, and the cleaning feature is wonderful.
At this early stage, I'm very worried and would give it an early 1 star if it wasn't for its looks. I didn't buy it for that though so a return may be in order.
It appears to me from roughly combining the reviews so far, if you're used to electric shavers, this is a good product but if you're used to wet shaves, this might never match expectations, such is the quality of a decent wet shave.
I will update my review in due course.
