Summary: Not Blue Max 1,250-W
Comment: The unit I received is actually the Trion 1800, 1200-Watt generator and not the Blue Max 1250-Watt that I ordered. There was no explanation as to why the switch was made. I noticed there is a slight difference in price, the Trion being less than the unit I was charged for.
However, after reading the manual, attaching the handle and putting the gas mixture in the tank the Trion 1800 started right up and seems to run and work fine. I have no complaint with it. I believe it will meet my needs. I have only run it for the breakin period with a light load to date so I can't comment on its extended use.
If ordering again from this supplier, I would be more cautious to make sure the item matched my order.

Summary: Guess it's OK for the price
Comment: Not exactly sure what I was expecting for $115 generator. I guess as long as you don't try to do too much with it, it is ok. I bought this to run a small (4800 BTU, 530w) air conditioner. It will not do it. The second the compressor kicks on the generator stumbles which kicks the compressor back off. I have verified the specifications of the AC unit and they do not exceed the specifications of the generator for continous power or for peak/spike power. Guess I should have known better.
But for general use it seems to operate fine. I have experimented with other items to see how it handles them. I have a pair of 250w halogen shop lights. It will light one light fine, seems to strain a little with both lights on. Seems fine for short bursts with a circular saw. Don't try to cut longer than about 30 seconds though.

First, I'd like to point out that Amazon and Blue Max have had great customer service despite my problems with this generator. And judging from the other reviews, most folks have had few problems. But just to offer my experiences for those considering the generator, here is what happened.
The first generator arrived with a cracked frame. Other reviews have pointed to shipping issues, and this seemed like a result of that. On informing Amazon of the problem, I received the replacement in two days - quite amazing! The second generator started right up. A day later as I tested it again, the pull starter mechanism broke. I called Blue Max directly, and they generously sent a replacement at no charge. After replacing the starter, the generator no longer turned over. I checked the spark plug and the connecting wire fell off. At this point, I again contacted Amazon and they offered a refund, again, great customer service. However, the money I saved on this inexpensive generator was lost, in my view, in the time spent trying to fix it.
Here's hoping you have better luck than I did.

Summary: Does exactly what I needed it to do!
Comment: Came in three days, free shipping, box damaged but internal packaging protected the generator. Started on the second pull after fueling, and starts every time on first or second pull. It runs over four and a half hours on a gallon of fuel. It powers a laptop and external monitor. I did insert a surge protector in line with my appliances. After two months of once or twice a week use it performs perfectly.

Comment: Received in great condition and it started on the first pull. A bit noisy, but not offensive. A lot quieter than a gas weed whacker! Some smoke as is expected in a 2 cycle motor. Easy to carry and fuel. It makes the light bulbs and TV work. What else do you need?
