Summary: So far, so good.
Comment: When my old printer died and my sister moved out with my scanner, I found myself in quite the dilemma. Buy two good items, or give an AIO a try. So I went around and checked websites here and there for reviews and suggestions. Needless to say, I read hundreds of things and the more I looked into it, the more I worried that anything I would get would die on me...
Finally decided on the RX595. It had the best reviews so far and aside from the whole ink issue would fit my purpose. Bought it and few days later got it. I installed it in 10 minutes in the middle of the night without issues, setup was that simple. And it worked! No dead-on-arrival machine. This was about two days before I had to leave for vacation. Printed a few things to test it out and was impressed by the quality. And no, it did not wake up the entire house, it's loud but no louder than I expected.
Went on vacation and came back, first thing I did was check the ink levels. Those were exactly as they should be. Have been printing ever since and yet to see anything out of place or badly done. The copier works like a charm and actually frames pages properly. Print out is crisp, machine is stable. I was worried that due to its location printouts would fly out and fall to the ground but so far so good.
Only reason it does not get 5 stars is because it doesn't output double sided pages directly, you have to put them back in to print. But! the driver is smart enough to tell you how to do it, with small diagram of how the paper outputs, how to turn it around and place it back. Having wasted a lot of paper by not knowing how to print on both sides, this was a very nice lil option.
I have a cat who enjoys sleeping on this, so I've kept some of the protective plastic covers on and close the lower paper tray after each use just as a precaution. But really so far no complaints! Should something ever happen, I'll post here. But this printer so far has made my day :)

Comment: The product worked straight out of the box and was easy to install and operate. Haven't found any problems with using the printer for disc printing, as well as normal printing. Ink seems to be holding up well. Nice product and so far so good. Would recommend this

Summary: can't get generic ink
Comment: This is my third epson, as i use them to make holiday cd's and dvd's. My R340 started acting erratic, so i started looking around for another printer, only to find that the R340 was discontinued, and i had a ton of ink left.
I saw the ad for the RX595 and thought it would fit my needs, but the ink is different. I have been shopping for the week since the printer arrived and one company would guarantee compatiblilty if i could guarantee that the manufacture date of the printer was before April of 2008, after which time, Epson changed the chips to prevent non-epson inks.
I looked into the documentation, on the back label and on the box and could not get that information. I am going to call epson directly and ask them, but i am sure they will know why i am asking, and perhaps give me the wrong date.
At the price of 10-15 per cartridge, they are far more expensive than the $1-$3 generics. I am going to return this printer after reading the reviews that sometimes it does not even recognize its own cartridges. Does not seem to be a bargain at $100 if it is going to cost almost $100 per month in ink! If anyone knows where i can get the generic ink that will work, i will wait a few days before returning product.
