Customer Rating: Summary: Would give ZERO stars if possible Comment: This printer is HORRIBLE. Don't buy an HP printer unless you want it-and the hp software- to TAKE OVER your computer
Customer Rating: Summary: Would Be A Four Star Printer EXCEPT... Comment: This would be an excellent printer were it not for a single problem.
The constant PAPER UPSIDE DOWN ERROR. When I'm printing DVD labels I use images and the printer scans the paper looking for photo paper. The only problem is I use matte labels so each and every time it thinks the labels are upside down when in fact they are not.
Now you can get past the sensor by using the low quality print setting but then the finished label looks terrible. And there doesn't seem to be any way to override this feature.
So now I have a really smart, really expensive printer that is pretty much useless as printing these labels is one of the main reasons I bought it.
Here us a tip for HP, if you are gonna make products that have all these smart features, maybe have a way to turn them OFF when they aren't so smart after all.
Customer Rating: Summary: Good printer Comment: I like this printer, great quality pictures, easy to use copier, easy to hook up (Windows Vista on HP laptop wireless through Ethernet router). Looks nice, good size. I'm glad I bought this printer.
Customer Rating: Summary: Very Good printer/scanner Comment: I do a lot of photo printing and this unit does a fine job. I like the feature of replacing the ink colors as needed rather than a multi-color cart. Also the price was lower than most places as I shop around before making most any purchase.
Customer Rating: Summary: Great printer although difficult setup Comment: I bought this printer to replace my Canon MP170. It had the features I wanted including 6 ink cartridges, color screen and front-loading paper. I have a 6 month old Mac and I am used to plug and play when it comes to printers. After fully loading the software and the printer not initializing, I found an OSX 10.5 update on HP's website needed to make the printer work. After downloading the update and reloading, everything worked great - although only having the printer about a week, I am very impressed with it's print quality, scanning and copying.
